Colin Cowherd again.

I know most on here hate him, but I, for the most part, enjoy his show.

Anyways, he listed the best jobs for for Jim Harbaugh. However, he is still ill informed by Shefter that says the Panthers have no interest.

But he listed us #2 out of the 8 coaching vacancies, for the best situation behind SanFran. He also said that he knows from a "source" that SanFran was going to hire a elite GM, and also the face that he wouldn't have to move his family as a big reason. But that the opportunity to get Luck could push him to Carolina. I know its nothing new, but its a sign that someone at ESPN doesn't hate us.

Colin is arrogant, smug and downright annoying sometimes, but the guy normally tells it how it is without any kind of ESPN or National spin....I've enjoyed listening to him more times then not because of that.....

I don't think Colin has any special insight into the situation.

No he doesn't and that another thing I like about him. He approaches issues from a fan's standpoint. He doesn't claim to be some special football secret agent gathering confidential information.

Actually, to be honest, he probably has just as much special insight as Scaftner or Glazer or any of those other guys.

I don't like him because he says a lot of dumb things, and he comes off like kind of a d-bag, but he could be just as right as anybody.

I feel like a lot of those "insiders" are just sounding chambers for GMs who want to have stuff play out in the media. More power to the guy if he logically looks at the situation and comes up with the proper conclusion.

...on the other hand, Luck could pull an Eli Manning and refuse to sign with us/demand a trade to the 49ers if Harbaugh is there.

They're picking at 7. That's damn near prohibitive cost-wise to trade up to #1.

Honestly, I'll worry more if Denver snags Harbaugh.

    • I mean, in theory Bryce could get over the hump. That aside, you have to know that due to the situation we are going to give him another year. From some perspectives, it just makes sense. I'm not saying that I agree or disagree with it, but it's not like the draft is chock full of franchise QBs. I'm thinking that only one, the consensus top pick, is destined to be the only one in this draft (and some people don't believe in him). All we can do is sure up the room with an FA (Pickett) and take a swing or two and hope (maybe the dawg Pavia). 2027 should bring better options if it comes to that.
    • Let's be honest here. We have one WR on this team that would be in the top 3 of ANY other team. And he was a rookie last year. I love Coker but he is an often injured UDFA. He wouldn't have even gotten a chance on other teams. The rookie injury would have bounced him around the league for the next 5 years until he stopped trying to make a roster. It's a numbers game for most teams and he would have (at best) been on some team's practice squad. But Carolina has been so devoid of talent at the position, that we didn't have much of a choice. Bryce leaves a lot of questions but to say he hasn't elevated anyone isn't true. No WR has left Carolina since he's started and did better on another team. Not one. And there are several to choose from. Coincidence? Maybe. Probably not.
