Cruise Lines

I love cruising. Getting on a big boat with a bunch of strangers all looking to relax and have fun is great.

The crew is from all over and are ALWAYS great. The food is always good (although old timers seem to think its gotten worse).

I agree with the commercialism of the port visits, but that's not why I go on cruises. I'd be pretty happy staying on the boat the whole time to be honest. On my honeymoon we kind of did just that at one port. The pool is mostly empty and service is easy to get.

I've mostly been on Royal Carribean - 2 cruises on Carnival that were "rock boat" theme cruises. Think they are fantastic.

If all you want to do is get out of the room and do stuff, an interior cabin works. On my honeymoon the balcony was a must do - we spent at least a couple of hours a day out there and it's beautiful.

Wife brought a box of wine, steward didn't care. Asked for an ash tray to use on the balcony for my "cigars i got at my wedding" and he was more than helpful - provided a few matches too! Nightime on the balcony watching the sea go by while enjoying some smoke is awesome.

I wouldn't advise trying to smuggle your own bud... Get caught with that, and no cruise for you!

BUT... If you are a fan of cigars like my friend that went with us on our last cruise, they don't really go too in depth searching those...

I've done it before but definitely a little risky. They are much more concerned with what you bring back than what you bring on. Either way, its better off to hit up the rasta dudes at the first stop, its better than it looks mon :sifone:

this is what I'm looking forward to enjoying.. I'm definitely debating on a balcony room.

Just keep in mind, the captain is cop, judge, and jury at sea. If caught, they can drop you off at the next port, no refunds, no returns. You will be on your own to get back home.

one person told me to fill up Listerine bottles with liquor.. fml... lol

Contact lens solution bottles are good, too.

And there is always re-corked wine bottles, since they let you carry on one bottle per adult over 21 in your carry on bag.
