Could we trade down and pick up a second?

then send Hurney to the browns, and get him to trade our second for the browns 1st next year. from there take our 1st next year (probably a top 15 pick) and the browns 1st (probably a top 15 pick) and trade it for the number 1 and get Luck?

ok the hurney part was a joke, but the rest is not. im not saying this is a good idea or not, and i know it wont happen, but could it? does anyone have a sheet with the draft values?

No one is going to trade for the #1 pick. no one.

THIS THIS THIS

I wish people will stop saying trade down!!!! We don't want anybody at #1, what makes you think someone else does, and wants to spend that kind of $$$ (It's all ready been said the rookie won't take place until 2012).

The only way we trade down is if we get raped in the deal. We will not get value for the pick.... period.

There is no one truly worth the #1 pick anymore and number 1 pick money....

Scenario: What IF Harbaugh lands at the 49ers or Denver say within the next 9 days, as Luck's cut off to declare approaches?

And Harbaughs new team behind the scenes wants to trade up to our 1st round pick with whatever offer they might entice us with knowing if Harbaugh can pull off a trade, Luck will declare to partner up with his old coach.........if he doesn't/cant pull off a trade before the 15th were back to square one.

Someone could potentially want #1... Never say never...

That said, this would certainly be a down year in value for it... meaning I don't necessarily think it could happen...

IF IT DOES... it will be because someone bumps their stock up tremendously between now and April, and a team that is run like a team ought to be (meaning they actually make moves to get guys they want) moves up to get them...

Not many teams besides Denver and New England has enough ammo this year alone, but I'd trade down into the mid teens of the first round this year for an extra 1st rounder next year if someone offers us that... Then we'd have 2 shots at getting the guy we want next year...

this...

1st pick is due what? like 80 million this year? that's crazy considering there is no real talent now worth even half that...

I was hoping a team like the Lions would want Bowers to team up with Suh, The Lions would have a great defensive line and I could see them willing to trade up to get him. I could see a team like Cincinnati needing a DE because of Odoms health. Who knows what will happen. All we can do is hope.

    • Reasonable. I mean I didn’t see a clear path to relief this season myself. As I have typed already, I think the QB FA class is more interesting next season and that draft is supposed to be stacked as well. There just weren’t many options this year.  When you have Tepper to contend with you have to tread lightly around this unless you are 100% certain and willIng to stake your job on it.   There were a couple of outings that helped Bryce a lot in terms of  thinking maybe he can do this, and if you are a supporter you are giving them a lot of weight. You are likely to think just get him some more help and he can do that every week. Which I think Tepper falls into that category.  And the playoffs, division champs, regardless of the way I see that, the supporters will also give that a lot of weight.    And the big one, the atmosphere In BOA for that WC game, Tepper had to be soiling himself over that. If you pulled Bryce out right now you had better be right and your new guy had better make the playoffs and look good doing it or you will be gone and your chance to build your old team back into respectability will be gone too.  So here we have Pickett on a one year deal, and Grier and King. I understand it.
    • Well, seeing as we play the Lions at home this year, pretty sure that rumor isn't true.
    • Totally possible imo, I also caught that snippet from Morgan where he said “If” we sign him. The lack of competition says otherwise tho 🤷‍♂️
