yea that's what we need to get this franchise on the right track, stop gap qbs i mean look at all the success teams everywhere are having with stop gaps

Your so right. Wishing hard enough that we have an elite QB will give us one now.

Why address the position??

Shhh...shh....Don't say anything..

I'm busy wishing..

Well then tell me what you would do. I'm sure Indy will let Peyton just waltz on over here and set us up for the next 5 years. We don't have any other choice besides either a stop gap QB or taking a chance on a QB in a draft where the only one worthy of the #1 pick went back to school. Unfortunately, we don't have many options. I'd rather get a stop gap and, honestly, gut out another losing season for a shot at Luck in the next draft. I'm just not optimistic we're going to be able to get someone who's going to make a monumental difference in win total next year in FA or this draft.

I don't like any of the options, because its really less then shown, its really about who is willing to take a short term contract at bargain price especially if a new CBA is in place that will also affect who would say yes to a deal with the club...that said I would say investing in Sorgi or Pennington I could deal with because Pennington when healthy despite lacking the ideal arm got the job done, and Sorgi was able to hold onto the best job in the biz for a while as the #2 guy behind Peyton Manning obviously he had something the coaching staff couldn't find someone better to replace him for that amount of time that says something, jmho

Couldn't disagree more. This is an ideal spot for a veteran to come because they know they have a fantastic shot at being the starting QB next year and depending in if we draft someone, also the following year.

We have no established starter and question marks over the young guys on the roster. The older guys would be much more inclined to come here over anywhere else.

Chad Pennington, MIA- Only if he would sign a 1 year deal.

Tyler Thigpen, MIA- He could be a good 1-2 option or backup. Get closer to home also

Tarvaris Jackson, MI- He does need to play somewhere.

Kerry Collins, TEN-I know his past but for 1 year he might work.

Vince Young- Likely will wont $$$$ an years on contract.

Could we trade down an still get AJ Green? Like in the #5 pick range an pick up a 2nd.

Wow, I hate to say it but this list is a who's who of who gives a crap. We'd be better off staying with Clausen......and that is sad.

Anyone here think we can get some top free agents like Asomugha, a top DT, WE, TE and QB and become a playoff team? we have plenty of cap room to sign 2 or three top players and with a good Qb I believe our team can be a winning team instantly or we could take years to win by rebuilding through the draft.
