JR Would Never Pick Cam Anyway

IMO the Panthers are a great team for Newton to go too. There really is not much distraction, He will be surrounded by mostly good aptitude players. He will have a decent line if we get Otah back. Our running back could take a lot of pressure off him his first year. The list goes on but for a guy that needs to develop and be surrounded by a good core I see no better place then Carolina.

PRO STYLE OFFENSE

I'm so sick of the same arguments over and over. Draft the motherf**ker so he can either succeed and we can all be happy, or he can suck sacks of dicks and the race baiting assholes on this site can disappear forever. I don't care at this point.

LOL for real!

Call it race baiting if you want, but only black QB's on this board get topics started and are judged by:

Character issues (very broad statement)

Have their work ethic questioned (statement like but what will he do after he gets paid)

Intelligence questioned.

Get called a thug for a misdemeanor.

I though a QB should be judged on

Arm Strength

Pocket presence

Decision Making

and call me crazy, how many times he wins.

No its not everyone. No I don't believe a vast majority here are racist. Do I think the huddle as a whole condones this? No. However to say a lot of people here are prematurely biased against black QB's is not a stretch. Thus all the anti Newton post today.

Pro Style Offense- How many QB's actually played in Pro Style Offenses in college? Sam Bradford ran the spread in college and he made a damn good transition to the pros, several other big name QB's didn't come from pro style offenses and have played exceptional in college. Remember one of the biggest things about Jimmy was that he came from a Charlie Weis pro style offense that made him "NFL ready" and you see how much that mattered. Bottom line, talent and work ethic matters more than anything. If you want to learn the playbook you will. And like I said with Cam Newton being a winner his whole starting career(JuCO National Championship, playing for a BCS national championship now) I believe he'll want to work harder to stay a winner more so than a player who had a middle of the road career.

The potential and upside Cam brings to the table is unmatched at his position without Luck in this draft. He possesses all of the tools necessary to excel at the next level, and the reward makes the risk one worth taking. Hypothetically, if he did happen to be somehow "under-performing," I trust there would be a vet signed or Clausen would need to step the hell up and take his job back while Cam adjusted to the NFL and its complex defenses.
