Luck is out of the picture. Take a look at this consolation prize. (I hate to say this: If he comes out)

222 lbs, runs a 4.45 40, 6'1" and the best cover corner in the draft.

Probably the BPA and he is at a need position. And he returns punts/kicks.

2010 SEC defensive player of the year.

2010 SEC Special teams player of the year.

Just curious what is the serious risk you speak of? The guy is a solid player.

The risk of getting him hurt.

Too much money would be invested in him for him to go out there and pull a hammy returning a kick, or worse.

The same reason Gamble stopped returning punts, the dude was too valuable to the team.

Fairley, Peterson, A.J. Green, etc. etc. etc. These guys are all really nice players but not someone that a team should use a number 1 pick on. They are more like 5-15 talent. Once Luck went back to school this really became a meaningless top pick.

Until we start getting some pressure on the QB it won't matter who our CB's are. When you play in the NFC South against QB's like Brees, Ryan and Freeman you have to attack them or they will attack us (Like they did this year). That is why I say we should draft Nick Fairley.

Yea i agree on that, I thought you had other worries. I don't think our coach would be that free with Peterson.

    • Oh, no TV for tonight's game unless you have the NHL Network, I believe. I could be wrong, hopefully?
    • Early returns are great and exciting but also worth noting that Gettleman had a few drafts that looked incredible early on and wound up mostly sucking (2014 mainly). Also PFF; grain of salt, etc.    I'm completely sold on Tet being a stud, knocked a high pick out of the park like we needed to and always should. Nearly sold on Scourton. Not sold on Princely but he had flashes. Not sold on Etienne as more than a 3rd stringer and special teamer, but that's not terrible for his draft position. Big fan of Ransom and think he'll be a starter.  Cam Jackson : IDK, I see limited upside but we didn't see much of him Evans was a nice find for draft position and he had a great rookie year for a late round rookie TE with plenty of veteran competition. Not sure about his upside though, seems like best case is a long term #2/3 TE, which isn't bad. Jimmy Horn, personally I didn't see a damn thing from him that impressed me all year. And he got a lot of opportunities. Pulling for the kid, but not convinced he's an NFLer.   UDFA: Fitzgerald was an amazing find
    • Hoping someone tells us Bussi was in the starter's crease for the morning skate. Otherwise, place your 1st shot- 1st goal bets! Any closer to a deal that could land a 2C in Trocheck or Brayden Schenn? Or land a winger in Alex Tuch or reach for Jordan Kyrou?
