Some of you Andrew Leaf fans are a trip! Every TD he threw in the orange bowl was from a blown coverage by a team that couldn't stop JAMES MADISON UNIVERSITY this year..and you guys went wild, claiming he's the next Elway...and now everyones criticizing Cam for making some of the same throws against Oregon?? SMH

Look, I am all for Cam Newton if we draft him in 3rd round. But he is a complete waste of the #1 overall pick

Picking AJ Green is a useless pick. Why when we have smitty? When our QB needs replacing an our o-line is horrible.

That is an ignorant comment. Smitty is 31 and doesn't have many years left. AJ Green is one of the best wide receiver prospects of the decade. So our O-line and QB have problems? Duh. But you don't reach for the best QB or O-lineman which may only be the 20th best player in the draft, when you can have a blue chip prospect like Green that we can find someone to throw to him later in the draft, through free agency, trade, or hell Id even wait till next year. Address O-line in free agency and late in the draft, find a veteran QB to trade for or pick up in free agency and draft AJ Green. Thats smarter than depending on an aging receiver and drafting another boom or bust prospect at QB, especially at #1 overall.

+1. But ya know if cam is a panther, i'll pull for him and hope he does well, but considering VY and MV have never won or come close to winning a super bowl is reason enough for me not to want him. I don't want to be mediocre.

Definitely. If Cam becomes a Panther I will certainly root for him with everything I have. I hope we don't select him, but if we do he will have my support from day 1.

Smitty did say he wanted to be the number two and groom another number one...

The only group I'm hating on right now is Oregon's pass coverage. I want to see Newton have to thread a ball into coverage, throw a fade, hell throw any NFL pass.

I don't even think he's had to throw over a linebacker yet. Oregon's D needs to step up so Newton has a chance to show our scouts something.

Don't get it confused dude. Vick has lead his teams to the playoffs a few times. You just named 2 mobile QBs. The chance of a mobile qb winning it all is what 2-out of 32 teams. Of course a pocket passer has won it the majority of the team by the majority of the league is pocket passers! Vince is only like 3-4 years pro also.

    • They can get film of all the games? Every team? Wow! Who knew… Our games with them are big examples of why they are in  the CB market so hard.   It is the study they do getting ready for the games.  Preparing to play against is a little different than just analyzing film in scout mode. Deeper dive. Then you are analyzing post game too.  This goes to why players often change teams but stay in the division. The opponents know each other on a higher level.  Plus if you lost to us, you used to get fired. Now you have to trade your first round pick. Moving up on the world.
    • I honestly can’t believe this team’s turnaround this season. It’s surreal. Figured healthy we’d be fringe playoffs and with another lottery pick could finally turn the corner, but we don’t even need that. This group is ready. We haven’t played remotely well the last 5 games and yet still blew out 5 bad teams by 16+ each game like it was casual practice. We had a few solid teams with Kemba and Big Al but this is easily our best group since the original Hornets moved to NO. Man, what a shift in culture this new ownership group and front office has brought. So damn happy to see it after years of suffering and consistently meaningless games in this stretch of previous seasons.   Only 2.5 games out of the 6 seed, although Miami, Atlanta and Orlando have been playing well too. Gonna be a fun final stretch, hopefully we can get a top 8 seed at the very least. Celtics tomorrow will be a good test. Would be huge to keep the road winning streak up against a very hot top team on the 2nd half of a back to back. We’ve played Boston pretty well the last few years with much of this same group despite sucking so I do feel pretty good about it. Kon is due for a huge game coming off a few cold shooting games (although despite the poor shooting he’s been contributing well with defense, assists and rebounds).
    • It amazes me how underrated Horn has become after he finally was able to stay on the field. Sure last year wasn’t perfect but he was still a huge reason for our rebound defensively and I’d say he’s easily a top 10 corner. You don’t want to see Mike Jackson as our top corner. Any player is available for the right price but I’d be extremely hesitant to move Horn even for a big haul from LA.
