Are we really that bad off at TE?

Or was it Fox's system 2 only use them as a 6th linemen? I heard Moose on the radio early this week and he felt like Dante and Gary are really talented just very under used.

He said in a different system they can really shine.

So do we really need another TE or can we just give the ones we have a chance too perform in a new system. Where the OC hands aren't handcuffed by the HC.

We've never operated an offense that used them. I'd like to see what they could do with a QB and an offensive scheme that utilizes them as more than additional blocking.

Rosario is going to be the guy?

Based of what?

He has been the #1disappointment at the te position.

He hasn't even done half as well as he should have in our old system. While our new OC may be able to get him improve, I don't expect the miracle it will take for him to be the guy that they want...or that us fans even want.

For the love of all things holy, if we add another TE, it better be via FA, because I hate drafting a TE every other year. I think Rasario will do everything we want him to do and can be a Mercedes Lewis type of player if put into the right offense. But I would not be opposed to keeping him and cutting Barnidge and King... and maybe keep a roster spot. Who knows. At this point.. Im up for anything. I just want to get stuff overwith.

So the only people who get a pass from a Bad OC who knew nothing about a passing is the QB's?

    • He makes a good point about Wallace.  In fairness to Wallace it is hard to play your position as freely as you need to when your defensive line is getting pushed around like ragdolls.  One of the greatest attributes a defensive line has is sucking up blocks, freeing up your linebackers.  Our defensive line couldn't suck up a lollipop more or less blocks.  I think Evans, Sanders and Tremble are going to be a really nice TE group.  I can see all three getting time on the field.  If Sanders can improve as a blocker teams won't be so inclined to believe it is a pass play whenever Sanders is on the field.  Ryan Fitzgerald, I think was an awesome pick-up. Hopefully he can fill our kicker void. Luke Kandra many turn out to be our next Norwell.  Everything I have heard about him says he's a beast.  He needs some refinement, but the good news is he's got Hunt and Lewis (arguably the best guard tandem in the league) to learn from.
    • Great teams build through the draft and have several young players that start that are on rookie contracts. It's important to hit on players in rounds 4 thru 7.  These should be future starters and solid depth.  When you hit on most of your picks you free up a lot of cap space for those one- or two-year players to fill spots you are thin at. No GM is going to perfect on all their picks.  You're going to whiff every once in a while.  That was Hurney problem.  He'd nail the first pick but after that it was reach after reach and we couldn't get any depth on this team. I'm excited about Morgan as our GM and hopefully he'll be around a long time.  It will be even better if Canales can continue to grow as a head coach, both in the development of young players and play calling. I remember last season after Young came back in the lineup and started to perform well.  We saw different plays I had only seen other teams use.   If Canales's play design and play calling continue to grow. Morgan and Canales will be linked together for a long time.  It would be nice to see a Coach and GM together for a decade or two. Go Panthers
