Another issue with porn/porn addiction is it takes more and more to get you off. Soon the thoughts of regular sexual encounters do not turn you on and you fall further down the rabbit hole looking for DVDA scenes to get you rocks off.

DVDA, FTW.

I can see that. It's all about incentive, and yes, the drive to go out and find women is markedly decreased with the vast amount of material online.

As far as the dating pool shrinking, I've pretty much given up on dating for now, but not because I can find an equally satisfying experience in cyberspace. Hardly. It's just that in my age range, I have found there are 3 demographic of women, and none are appealing:

  • The ones who look and act like Snooky and think that going out and getting drunk is fashionable because it's what Ke$ha sings about.
  • The ones who have great careers, great personalities, and are smoking hot, and are currently dating mechanics or still dating their High School boyfriends.
  • And the ones who are kind of middle of the road, girl next door types, but are already looking to lock down a husband, while I am just looking for short term dating.

So it's kind of like house shopping. I still want a house, but I'm just going to wait a while so I can see what the market does. In the mean time, I'm just going to rent...a couple of times a week.

Great plan. very similar to mine. After 5 years of "renting" groupies and club chicks I found the right one, at a house party no less.

speaking of, house parties are one of the BEST places to meet people

sooo...I dont feel that I fit into any of these categories. Is that bad?

You are also right around my age and I have just discovered guys my age are NOT looking to date right now. They wanna party and get fuged up and act like they are still in college and be blackout. Dont get me wrong, Im not looking for it to end up as us getting married, but do people not go get drinks or dinner anymore?

I usually only go out one night on the weekend and never during the week. My alcoholism stopped once I started working a 9-5.

No insult to you intended. I meant to say "in my particular postal district." The burbs of D.C. is not a hotbed of dateable women. You have to actually live in the District, in order to find the career-oriented ladies in normal social settings outside of bars and clubs, and I do not. When I go to D.C., Friday or Saturday night, all I have a chance to meet are the clubber chicks, who again, only fall into those three categories.

Going out and partying? Let's just say I am the oldest 23 year old I know. I'm already totally disinterested in parties. I'd rather go to a lounge and talk than get wasted and be partially deafened by "We gon' light it up, like it's Dy-No-Mite!" And again, I find that the women around here are still in the club mindset.
