Cromartie Rips into Union Reps

It's sad that a good amount of these players have made more money than most people make in their lifetime and didn't manage it wisely. I could live off $1 million for the rest of my life but these guys can't do without their 6 cars and 8 bedroom houses. I don't feel sorry for them one bit.

You don't sound sorry but you do sound jealous.

Hell yeah I would love to make millions and never have to worry about feeding my family or keeping the heat on. I would've managed my money better to where if there was a lockout I wouldn't have to worry about my money. My point is nobody needs 4-6 cars like these athletes you see on cribs. Now Cromartie might need an 8 bedroom house since he has all those kids.

So you think you could live off of about $550,000 the rest of your life? I hope you're pretty damn old. Take about 3% off of that for agents fees and you are left with roughly $530k.

No chance you make that last.

I think many fans are out of touch with reality when it comes to players salaries and the length of their careers.

I said I could live off of exactly $1 million for the rest of my life. I know these players have to pay their agents but trust me Cromartie has pocketed way more than $1 million in his career. Again my point was these guys have made enough to live on but they chose to live the high life and now that a lockout is looming they're worried cause they didn't manage their money right.

My point is they don't see all that they make and we just hear big numbers and assume they keep it all.

Also, the majority of the players in the NFL aren't making nearly as much money as you think they are.

Honestly. I bet you couldn't.

Simply buying a house would wipe out a pretty sizeable chunk of that. If you decide not to buy just to save money on the immediate, then you are costing your kids money in the future as they can't rent it out or sell it.

Simply having that money there would make you want to send your kids to a slightly nicer school, or settle some crippling debts.

I suppose you could just live a normal life with $1 million in the bank, but then you wouldn't be living off of it.

    • I mean, you probably should've waited after the season is over before "going there," that way we we'd have four more games of comparison and discussion. Don't get me wrong, I occasionally go out on a limb, but Bryce just had his best game and has given people hope (which could realistically be false hope), and Shedeur just doesn't have that many games under his belt (even if he does look promising), one of them being against the Titans. No harm in being patient and letting things play out.  If you noticed, Tepper seems to be taking a wait-and-see attitude, and he didn't mention Bryce in the clip in the other thread. I'm still highly skeptical of Bryce (and glad that Sanders has shown an ounce of success), but the reality is that we have to let things play out. The Sanders train left long ago (if it was even here). But,there are more realistic options if Bryce turns back into a frog.
    • imagine thinking that talking about our next opponent is "gassing up" someone.... and then lying about basic info because it's not flattering to the league's worst starting QB since he arrived.  as a starter he is 2-3 (just a fact) as a starter vs Bryce this year pass yards per game - Shough rush yards per game - Shough comp % - Shough  QB rating - Shough yards/per attempt - Shough and Shough is only good for a 2nd year rookie thrust into the gig on a bad team.   He is getting graded on a curve of what he is.  And he won the last head to head vs us, and looked like the best QB on the field that day.   there are a billion red flags when it comes to Bryce Young.  This is just another.
    • Imagine gassing up a 2-4 QB for a terrible division rival with stats worse than our QB in every category except raw yards per game
