I like you also belived in Jimmy Clausen the more Pro ready QB in the Draft. When his name got called out by Roger in aprils draft, I jumped up from the couch and started dancing around thinken we're finally getting a great Qb talent early in the draft something we never did except for Kerry Collins when the franchise started. Jimmy has let allot of people down with his play. If you like em and still belive in him thats on you , but i can't agree with you on that. Take a look around the teams who have played young talent at QB rookies, Colt McCoy, The Golden Calf of Bristol , Joe Webb out played Jimmy IMHO even the Ari game their QB was a rookie #19 his rating was higher than #2 in the end. One things I'll give him his kinda tough for a guy his size, When he got hit in seattle I thought he wasn't going to get up from the field but he did. Played scared after that but he didn't tap out. But does he win games for the team , is he a leader, I am glad he made his way back to NC to start what his tweeting ready to work, I mean his the only qb i know wasting time on tweeter taking pictures of stupid stuff and nite tweetes .His spending allot of time on there , I wonder how many hours of film his watch on himself to make him a better QB to help his team have a winning chance. I wish him well , his on our roster so I dont completely hate him , just let down by his ability to complete a pass to his teamates running routes down the field.

Carson struggles down the field with big play threats on the field so not sure how that would really solve anything.

Also you are fundamentally wrong, you don't to throw deep much at all to succeed, provided you can create mis-matches on the field. As soon as the mi-matches are there, you can generate passing plays with decent yac.

Not many people throw the ball beyond 30 yards consistently, almost always shorter passes where picking up the yardage after the catch generates the 'deep pass'.

The thing is, Clausen doesn;t have a weak arm. At least he didn't. If Rip tinkered things which prevented him from getting as much mustard on it then we have the problem. All he really lacks is that confidence in himself and his receives to take advatage of one on one's.

That was sarcasm. And speaking of fundamentals, staying in the pocket long enough to pick out a target and vertical passing is one of the requirements of an NFL QB which Clausen needs to master. I didn't say he had a weak arm.

His arm strength is average perhaps. Some scouts said it was good but there are too many throws he struggles to make. He has to wind up to throw it down the field with any zip and whether intentional or not, the receiver has to come back for the ball. I suspect arm strength can be enhanced with strength work but I am no expert so I don't know. I would think he would be working on that like most players who need to transform their college bodies into an NFL ready body.

I forget which game it was but I actually kept track and through the entire first half there was only ONE pass attempt where Clausen wasn't pressured, knocked down or sacked. This was just to show how horrible our OLine was at pass blocking. I'm not making excuses for Clausens bad play or any other players.
