i would never read too much into the sam mills job. more of a sentimental hire than anything, imo.

the brown assistant job is just to help the oline on another level that matsko might not be able to help with and it might have to do with the age of matsko. if we hire proehl as an asistant WR coach, that might mean that we are going after an older WR coach or someone with no playing experience.

Jerry Sullivan would fit that mold.

Sometimes, I hate logic.

These younger assistants were also players. You could say they're picking up older, veteran position coaches and giving them assistants that can make sure the messages get through to the players.

Oh, and there's only one Ray Brown...

    • I agree but he honestly has gotten better about this. Used to be he’d do it like 4-5 times a game, now it’s like 2-3. Overall I’m incredibly happy with his game, his D has been solid and when he is playing his role he’s a solid scorer and one of the few guys who can consistently finish at the rim and provide that threat. Plus he’s electric and LaMelo loves him. Going into the season I was sure he would just be a stop gap here but now I’m reconsidering and could see him continue to be a “core” piece here. Obviously not on the level of the other starters but he is an important cog for this team. We felt his missed presence during his and Moose’s suspensions.
    • Philly will be a bigger challenge than the Knicks were IMO. George and Embiid are back, not sure about Maxey but Embiid alone is a nightmare matchup for us and Moose. We’ve never really done well against him. Celtics added Tatum but honestly not sure they’re all that much better with him right now than they were when we whooped them a few weeks ago. We should be able to at the very least split these 2, hopefully take both.
