What do you do when you're depressed?

I'm pretty much miserable 24/7 and all I do is watch TV, Sports or Porn and play video games.

Something must be working cuz I'm still kicking.

Sorry for your loss, btw.

I've found drinking doesn't help in the long run, you will remember why you were depressed in the first place and have a hangover the next day.

I normally go down to the Panthers team store and spend $42 on a bumper sticker or window cling.

Or, go volunteer somewhere. I'm too self centered to do it, but I've heard from others it makes you feel better about things.

I always immerse myself in music, as if I'm conducting the soundtrack to my misery.

The benefit is once you start moving through the stages of grief you can change the music to fit your mood. I couple that with intense physical exertion which helps release toxins. As corny as it may sound, I imagine I'm sweating out the pain and greif. For me that's playing the drums, but you can run, play football, or just walk, whatever makes most sense to you.

I'm really sorry about your loss

It depends on how long it's been going on. If just a few days of being blue, I'll try to do some stuff with the family, retail therapy, completing some projects always gives me sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. Helping others always gets me out of my box too.

But if it's something that's been going on for a while. I'll get some blood work done. I have Graves Disease & it's in remission right now. One of the first things I notice when my Graves is getting wacky is depression. A low Vit D will make you feel depressed and with it being winter we don't get much sunshine cause we're all covered up.

I hope you feel better soon Cat!

We are going skiing this weekend and next. I'm hoping that will help though he was suppose to go skiing with us last weekend but instead we were at his funeral (we had to change the dates so we could go to his funeral).

You guys gave me some good ideas, exercise is one I think will definitely help. I'm gonna stay away from the drinking for the most part because that just makes it worst. I don't feel like cleaning my house but I HATE having a dirty house and my house right now is a disaster. I think I might hire it out the next two weeks.

Hire the cleaning crew and before they show up have an epic food fight. Bonus points if it's still going on when they arrive.

    • I'm not sure that in a fair QB competition that Young would beat out Jones.
    • That's why I said stats aside. I lived in CO during Allen's college career and didn't have kids at the time so I watched most of his games. Bruh, I'm telling you. Balls just spraying all over the place. The type of throws where you're honestly trying to figure out who he was even trying to throw that one too. It was crazy. Richardson was inaccurate in college but at least you could tell who he was trying to throw it too. He threw a lot of early in the game Cam Newton type balls where it seemed like he was just a little too amped up and everything was a few feet high. Richardson's misses looked like they were maybe fixable with working on his footwork, release, etc. Josh Allen's misses looked like "ain't no way you're fixin' that poo, dude has a cannon equipped with no sights". LOL Huge props to the Bills for evaluating him as fixable and indeed fixing him.
    • A lot can change over the next week, but here is my best 53-man roster (note: I'm just basing this on guys on the 90 man roster currently).
