Lil wayne goes "Green & Yellow"

lil wayne is great to listen to while playing madden or partying.. but his lyrical content suffers majorly and a lot of rappers have tried to adapt his style which is getting old... (although they have to write their stuff down)

Drake is a good example.. he just writes down what comes to his head..

Look, dress hanging off your shoulder, barely sober

telling me how you moving away and starting over

girl, quit playing you just drunk, you just saying poo

oh you dance, dance like how, like ballet and poo

oh, wait, no, I get it girl, I’m with it

I’ve been down this road before and yeah I skidded but forget it

damn, yeah, I wonder why I never why I learned my lesson

it’s feeling like the second chance and its the first impression

and I heard it’s nothing new except for someone new

but how you supposed to find the one when anyone will come with you

talking to myself but I never listen,

cuz man it’s been a while, and I swear that this ones different

that’s why I’mma take you anywhere you wanna go

let you meet my friends so they can lecture me again about

how reckless I have been

and I’m slowly running out of all the time that I invest in

making all the same mistakes

and I’m just trying to correct it and I fall...

that poo has got to go.. Kanye too, he's bad for that...

there's no message anymore..

Wayne has fallen off, I agree, but the latest reports say that since getting out of jail he hasn't been getting all high on syrup and is going back to his roots. I still throw on the Carter II and admire it.

Old Wayne held it down. See "Weezy's Ambitions." Which was done off the top of the dome in an interview, then later made into a track over Pac's Ambitions as a Rider.

OK, we get it, you don't like Wayne, or you don't like rap. Cool.

Rap has changed, to a certain degree, which is why you either listen to old poo (like I often do) or put up with the new poo (which I also do). Pick your artists carefully if you're looking for anything of value.

Rap fans, if you want to here some guys keeping the pulse going these days check out Lupe Fiasco, J Cole, Wiz Khalifa, Mac Miller, and Mickey Factz. Feel free to pm me for some others or let me know how you feel about my suggestions!

Cudi, Eminem, Kanye, Lupe, MIMS, Drake, Weezy. Half of them can't even rap, but I enjoy listening regardless.

Lupe Fiasco and Wiz shouldn't even be in the same sentence

What Dpantherman said. Also, bolded the ones I know and like, underlined the mainstream crap I can't stand. Kanye is bolded with the exception of his newer work. Mac Miller and Mickey Factz I haven't heard...

Lupe Fiasco and Wiz shouldn't even be in the same sentence

HAHA agreed. Lupe is a lyricist, and one of the best at that. Wiz just makes trendy songs that sound good for a day or two.

Saw someone a few posts above mentioned J Cole. He is the best new rapper out there. He's got kind of an old-school feel. Rather than making really catchy hooks, he concentrates on rapping which is something many simply don't do.

Also, Joe Budden is one of my favorite rappers. Listen to his mixtape "mood music 4" on datpiff.com. He's a really talented rapper.

Ravens love Flowers. Egbuka was a strong OROY pick   Seems like a great spot with these recent picks.......Best value has been WR....
    • false rumor, he's a team leader.  No clue what he is worth.....Rico came off the streets for 2.5million and put him to #2 for weeks. I doubt a team would give much more than a late rounder. Like Frank said above, 5th would be tops and very lucky.  He's got a fair contract and is well liked by players, coaches, and FO. No reason to trade.
    • Set us back a few years but..a decade? lol what are you smoking man.   only 2000s move that’s come close to actually setting a team that far back wash owns trading for Deshaun, thankful we didn’t win that “sweepstakes” at least    I know hyperbolic commiseration is all the rage here but no team in the NFL is more than a few years away from competing if they go about things right (“right” being the key word here) just in the last few years see: Lions, Patriots, Broncos, Colts (pre DJ injury)
