Not sure I agree with Kalil getting the tag. Rather put it on Williams. I like the potential targets though.

If we had to pick one of the two to walk it would be Deangelo 100 out of 100 times. Ryan Kalil is just too important to our line. I completely agree with tagging Kalil if the F.O. doesn't feel they will be able to get a deal done in time....

If we wanted to trade Williams it should have been done last year or even this year for top $. Either we resign him or tag and keep him or it looks pretty bad in my opinion. Why waste a tag on Williams just to trade him or Kalil? Those two need to be resigned in my opinion, they are proven. Johnson should get the tag but I understand if it is Kalil business wise. I just see tagging dwill a waste and if we don't resign him he will walk for nothing which looks bad.

Wouldn't he command top 5 LT money if tagged though? That's alot for a center. You could put the transition tag on Williams and see what the market is for him.

He's a C so he would command the average of the top five highest paid Cs in the league, not a LT....

I know he is a center. But I thought it would be top 5 money for all OL players. Which would be LT's that earn the most. Didn't know it would be top 5 center money.

    • Even if he beats the odds, returns midseason  and plays like he did last year it won’t warrant a big contract extension.
    • It’ll be interesting to see how the board falls I completely agree with you on TE for us The safety from Oregon would be the cherry on top for Evero’s defense/scheme.  If a OL’men is there that you love it would be very hard to pass up. This fan base seems to just see Walker as a stop gap but I wouldn’t be so sure. He’s the same age as Ekwonu. He’s had a much more impressive career arc/progression than Icky has. He’s the better pass protector. As far as I see it if Walker has a good year I’d bring him back over Icky. Ekwonu isn’t some elite franchise LT. Playing next to Lewis is going to be great for Walker much like it has been for Icky. We definitely need to get younger/cheaper on the OL though so for this reason alone it’s still top of my list come round 1 if board falls this way  Could also use another corner with Mike Jackson’s deal up after this season and needing a nickel but Corey Thornton looked really good in that role in the limited time we got to see him. However he’s coming off an achillies injury and you never know with those.  Then as mentioned above we do still have a need at WR. As far as “weapons” go it’s kind of a 2 man show with Tmac and Coker and neither is a burner. If Jordan Tyson is there at 19 and we can have a young WR group locked up for cheap that’s a huge advantage cap wise  And don’t forget linebacker. That clip in Devin’s Lloyd blueprint they used from Evero saying they need more intelligence there could’ve been left out for Wallace’s sake but it’s true. Wallace is lost in coverage. Pair a smart linebacker with Lloyd and that’s a group with Wallace and Cherelus being depth
