Analysts Interpretations On Cam's Workout

I like mayock, but he has to understand that not every successful pro QB played in a pro-style offense in college

the bias against it is a little overrated

I don't think it's as much that he didn't play in a pro-style offense but the fact that he played in nearly the furthest thing from it save the triple option.

Have to agree there. Its makes me trust him less because he just blows him off like a high school groupie.

Warren Moon on Cam:

"But if I see something that I can help him improve on, I'm going to do that," Moon said.

During the session, Moon picked up on something and told Newton.

"He wasn't transferring well," Moon said afterward. "He was throwing leaning backward. Even though he has a very strong arm, I don't care how strong of an arm you have, if you're not in the right throwing motion, you're not going to get good accuracy on the football, the ball is going to go high on you. As soon as he gets that weight transferred, he throws the ball as accurately as anyone you've been around."

You have to understand that the other QBs know that a media workout means nothing in terms of their draft stock, it'll come down to game tape and private workouts.

How many juniors come out with only 1 year of film though. This is not your run of the mill junior QB prospect, so I don't blame him for wanting to get his name out there.

agreed. There is so little of tape on him that he needs to have these workouts so the scouts will have some footage on him.

His name is out there plenty.

Another thing I noticed at the workout that isn't being talked about that much is his presence. No not his physical presence, which is impressive to say the least but maybe his demeanor around everyone.

He is a very charismatic person but he seemed to be out of his element a little when he wasn't working out. His interviews sometimes got a little choppy almost like he didn't feel comfortable talking about certain things.

It was in direct contrast to what I've seen from him in his college game interviews and everything else. He's usually very charismatic and controls the interview with confidence but this seemed a little different. I can't really put my finger on it.

Maybe because it wasn't after a game with emotions high and he knew these interviews were coming and was nervous, I don't really know. Just seemed off to me.

That was what I was thinking before, but if he doesn't throw at the Combine, I'll be disappointed.

Really hope he does.

On Total Access Cam implied he was "getting ready for the Combine". I know it's not set in stone but I do believe he will be there with the way he was talking about it.

If he does not throw at the combine then that should tell you all you need to know...

I will say it again he should except every thing they throw at him because its his one shot to prove he can be a Top 10 talent.

    • Well if you are gonna put it like that I probably would have to agree with you.  We’ll see how it goes. I am kind of rooting for seeing some Picket this year just for a change up. I root for a change up every year though lately.
    • OK honestly I don’t identify like that but if I did I would think about being the first raised on TV generation (bad), we were probably latch key/before the term was invented - because I was raised by a single working parent, stuff like that. No baby sitters until after dark. Afternoons you just waited for an adult to show up. We were the bussing generation where they tried out their social engineering and forcing the races together in school (good and bad in that), and definitely the first bunch to have to deal with the threat of the big bomb going off. I, like everybody else was taken out in the hallway at school and taught how to and where to sit and receive my radiation dose if someone nuked us. And then they killed our president right in front of us. That is probably the most destabilizing thing that gets the least attention. The atomic bomb and the potus killing.  Around t(e same time we had the Beatles and music becoming a youth thing, with the youth gaining economic power they still have today, and top it off with a good memory of childhood - all tne Coke bottle caps had pictures of NFL players in them. We collected them. I particularly remember Mick Tinglehoff Minnesota Vikings lol. Complete with flattop haircut. We had pro football before there was ever a super bowl and in those days baseball was the king of sports in the US.But football was coming for them. And soccer was what weird funny talking foreigners did lol.
    • When Kenny Pickett's arm looks noticably zippier than your starting QB you know problems are ahead.
