Owners come to defense of Panthers' Richardson

I have faith in a man who managed to turn a 250 dollar game check into a 12 billion dollar franchise.

JEEZ!

He walked away over a $250 raise, he received a little less than $5000 for the Championship game.....Bradshaw used that $5K to help fund Hardees, which was already up and running....Richardson didn't start Hardees....he backed it....Hugh McColl and he partnered on Spartan foods....then he was the CEO of Flagstar Corp....Richardson knew the right people, had the right amount of cash flow and applied himself.....Congrats to him.....now it's time for him to stop nickel and diming and get the NFL product back on the field!

There wouldn't be any Panthers without the fans.

It the classic saying of what came first the chicken or the grumpy old man

If that's true, who are the fans of the Carolina Thundercats professional soccer team? If you can't find any, I guess that means the pro soccer team would have to get here first for there to be any.

It's true that there were tons of potential fans in this area, but it took a good businessman to convince an exclusive club of NFL Owners that he had what it took to harness that and get them all behind a single franchise.

If it was so easy, everyone would be doing it.

So I guess the only reason that you're not super-rich is because you don't know the right people, huh? Because it's easy if you do.

hard work, being knowledgeable, being a good communicator, knowing the right people and having a little luck can make u super rich.

I'll take the first three, because if you have those then the fourth tends to happen organically. Once you have those four in place, then people start talking about how much of the fifth you have. :)

You don't "have" to, but he's gotten us this far so I think he deserves the benefit of the doubt.

Thank you for bringing an NFL team to the Carolinas. Thank you so much. Here is all my hard earned cash. Please please please let me see football next year! Is that better?

How about this. In 14 years there have been 4 winning seasons. You fired Fox for only having 2 wining seasons out of 9. How about spending the MONEY and get us a winning team on the field? If you have the wrong upper managment to do this, then fire them! Give me a break. You bash Fox for 2 winning seasons and act like a COACH is the only reason a team wins or loses? How about firing everyone around you and maybe even firing yourself if that's what it takes.

I could care less who owns the team. Just put a winning product on the field and quit your complaining about how much it costs. If you can't afford it, then get out of the business. Owning an NFL team is a luxury. It's not suppose to be you're only source of income. Keep flippin them burgers, pay the money and "the fans" the product they are paying for.

thanks,

one of the guys who pays for your luxury item.

LOL, if you knew anything about the effort it took for JR to get an expansion NFL franchise in the Carolinas you would (should) feel differently...

People laughed at the idea of an NFL franchise in the Carolinas, said it would never work and dismissed JR as a fool. It was the same determination and fire JR is showing in these CBA meetings that forced the NFL to listen and realize a franchise in a Carolinas would work.

ya, the difference between being rich and super rich could be a result of that. My father had all those things and became rich. then got bad luck and lost more than half of his money. If u call the economy crashing bad luck.

My old man built a multimillion dollar company and it went under because of the first gulf war. He is still working his ass off right down the hall from me. Knowing the right people helped him secure a job at 66. He will never be rich, monetarily.

According to Cyberjag he should be drinking prune juice out of a fuging chalice

And those right people knew what your dad was capable of doing, which is why he's in the job he is. Or are you saying that they threw him a bone and he doesn't earn what he makes? I kind of think it's the former.

Tangentially, if I spent all my time becoming an expert in OS/2 in the 90s, would that be my bad luck that I couldn't get a job in 2000 or would you think I was a dumbass?

:nopity:
