Trgo admits he wasn't comfy in Carolina

"My goal is to someday be a coordinator again," Trgovac said. "I don't want to want to do that right now. One of the things that my wife said to me, if you work for a defensive head coach it is a little bit harder than when you work for an offensive head coach. She said, 'You haven't seemed happy the last year.'

that is pretty telling.

that is pretty telling.

What is telling is that when you work for a defensive head coach they know what you are doing and are going to look over your shoulder. They are going to make sure you do your job. An offensive guy will leave you alone since he doesn't know better how to do it.

Yasinskas doesn't like Fox and never has. So his bias doesn't make it so. I am sure Fox was looking over Trgo's shoulder. With the defense as poor as it was in 2007 and 2008 late he should have been. Trgo wasn't happy, Fox wasn't happy and non of us were happy. If it were Fox's fault then why was the defense better from 2003 through 2006 with Trgo. I figure that Trgo was like Henning. When he had the pieces in place to run his scheme, he was fine. But he couldn't adjust to make the most of what he had.

Exactly. Ugh, I'm mixed on Yasinskas. The guy has some idiot comments. Further down in the NFC South blog, he makes this mention:

"Don't get too excited about Moore. There's a reason why the Panthers went out and traded for McCown last year and dropped Moore to No. 3 on the depth chart."

I was almost certain Moore being dropped to #3 was purely because of his injury? There is no way that he was dropped to #3 simply because of poor competition between him and McCown. On that note, McCown does not deserve to be the #2. The guy couldn't do CRAP when he had Fitzgerald and Boldin, so I don't see why he'd do any better with what the Panthers have.

sounds like it lines up with comments Trgovac made about burnout (sleeping at office, being unhappy) turning into Fox feeling like he needed to step in.

It's very telling that he bags on Fox for "still running the show" when most of the time the show has been a very good one. If 2008 and a burnt out defensive coordinator is the worst we can do, I certainly look forward to someone else running our defense (that took us to the playoffs three times) better.
