He was one I didn't get the hype on at all. I remember watching that nationally televised game he had right before they shut their season down and was baffled. Like, this is just TEMU The Golden Calf of Bristol.

I think a lot of the hype is because Carson Wentz had just come out of NDSU a few years prior which let's be real, for a program like North Dakota State to produce those two QBs is still pretty incredible.

You literally did it right there and didn't even remember it. Sorry long Friday.

What about that game was "scrub time"? You just seem hell-bent to just go on rants about your evidently hatred of college football and attribute the things you would like to rant about to me. That's all. It's weird.

So avoidance? Cool.

It's weird people watch an inferior product but Im fine with that because I can make fun of it. i just evaluate how it bleeds into this place. You did it and then deflect.

It wasn't "scrub time". That was my point. I think it may have been the only nationally televised game he played. They won 28-20. It was a competitive game.

Lance completed 6 of 10 passes for 72 yards and had 30 carries for 181 yards. Hence why I was confused how this guy was being out forward as a top NFL QB prospect. Like what I just watched is not going to translate to the NFL, hence the Temu The Golden Calf of Bristol comment.

You're just over and over trying to show horn on arguments and stances that haven't actually been out forward.

That's fine if you don't like college football. Cool. But you're being intellectually dishonest as hell here. That's my whole point. You wanted to go on a rant against college football so you're going to attribute all the things you want to rant about to me whether I've actually said them or not. Bizarre behavior but hey whatever

You made fun of 2 NFL scrubs and I made fun of all the scrubs that were below them but somehow it's not the same thing. Scrubs as using the NFL as the baseline so yeah it's scrub ball.

All I was trying to do is say that what you did is what teams do. You keep responding like it was ever an attack and I was just saying that's how the NFL drafts so poorly every year.

Also covid ball vs any other year? Come on. That year was comical form so many angles. Your football takes when NFL are so well thought out and usually grounded but as soon as school ball comes into it you fall into the same thing every team does in evaluations. That's  the point and you still can't see it.

Totally fair but there were also Josh Allen comparisons knowing he would be a project. He is still young enough to develop

Josh Allen is the biggest positive shocker I can recall. I've never seen anyone develop as much as he has as a passer. Dude couldn't hit the broadside of a harn at Wyoming.

Yeah, when people use him as justification for bad QB's, I facepalm pretty hard.

Using an outlier to argue is just not intelligent.

    • if  ANYONE actually goes & looks at the FACTS on rookie Qb's after 2 full seasons as a starter in the NFL & they are still well below average do they rarely ever actually become top tier Qb's & instead most likely either do not recieve a second contract & or become life long backups...just saying
    • So he became GM and decided not to address the weakness in the QB room following one of the worst rookie QB performances in NFL history?  There were options last season other than signing Dalton to a 2 year deal. Brissett and Jones by a wide margin, both of whom outplayed Bryce, Wilson, Winston, hell even Rivers off the couch was more exciting at the QB position. The time to address the failure in the QB room was last year but instead people on the Huddle cheered when we brought Dalton back then cheered when we were able to get anything for him after they finally realized he was washed up like a few of had been saying all along and got poo'd for even mentioning.  This year, the options were more limited obviously, especially since we lost Icky. It changed the dynamic of our draft. I think we were stuck this year keeping Bryce, but i still think giving him a 5th year option for what has amounted to replacement worthy performance was the wrong move. Why guarantee 25m if you're planning to replace him? You think he's going to want to be a bridge QB? Hell no. He's going to want out and we'll end up cutting him if he has another lackluster season because no one is trading for him with that price tag.  Were there better options as far as production available. A couple. Were there guys available with more physical tools than Bryce, Pickett or Grier, you damn well better believe there were. I've been saying all along, you always keep looking for your 1b. Bryce has yet to prove he can be a starter. Keep looking for someone who may. Put competition in camp. Let the best QB lead the team. Stop settling for less than mediocre.
