Roethlisberger played SB with two broken ribs.

I think the "Terminator" title should now be applied to Big Ben instead of Favre. This guy just takes a licking and keeps on ticking.

the article

According to SI.com, Roethlisberger said his fractured ribs didn't show up on X-rays taken before he led the Steelers to a 27-23 victory over the Arizona Cardinals on Feb. 1, but were revealed only during an MRI test he had last week.

"Luckily, in the game, I didn't take any big hits to make 'em hurt," Roethlisberger told SI.com. "But I knew all along there was something wrong. There wouldn't have been anything that could have been done about fractured ribs anyway. It was just suck it up and play."

Roethlisberger didn't miss any practices before the Super Bowl, although a pool report from the Wednesday practice said he attempted to stretch his torso during the middle of the workout. Roethlisberger missed one practice during the off week before the Super Bowl because of what the team said was a back injury.

He never struck me as the type of guy that would over-complain about an injury. Most guys would probably do the opposite and hide their injuries, making millions and millions of dollars.

Emmitt Smith was accused on more than one occasion of exaggerating the severity of his injuries. It made him look like a "warrior"

I am with you Mr. Scot.

Personally, I would rather not even know that he had played with "tweaked" ribs even if they lost.

I like players that just say, "they beat us, we had chances, but they came to play" BS like that.

Don't throw the D under the bus, don't talk about your teammates badly, and don't say that you were hurt, when you can play.

The point is not whether he is tough, because he is. The point is that the Steelers didn't say anything about the injury, but Roethlisberger managed to work it into a casual interview and not for the first time. He seems to like to refer to himself as being injured and playing thru it while his team appears to want to keep that out of the media. Whatever his motivation it seems like grandstanding, but I guess he's entitled, he won...

I've thought he was a drama queen since he said he broke his toes in 2004 and Cowher was pissed and denied it and as far as I know, it wasn't true. If it was a one time thing I would blow it off but it has been going on for awhile now. He also shittalked Whiz to the press after he left for AZ. He's just immature, IMO. I find it interesting that at first he didn't confirm the x-ray at all then he says he did have an x-ray "somewhere". With the shoulder, he crowed about it to the press then Tomlin got mad and he sort of shut up about it. Two different HCs, and he has the same conflicts? To me that means it isn't merely a conflict between him and a certain HC, it's more likely his issue.

    • Not the biggest fan of PFF grades long but they made an interesting point on their commentary this week Bryce Young is presently per them one the worst “deep passers in the NFL” this year.   Which was the comeback narrative of being great at it.  But PFF deep is actually intermediate.  It’s 10 yards.   During his comeback he was able to get off those intermediate passes because of the big shift defenses went running man and blitzing.   where Bryce struggles the most to date is just being asked to stand in the pocket and throw into coverage.   And really struggles on top of that if folks start disguising stuff.  (This part is me….and his small stature and arm struggle facing that)  so I would expect people just don’t give him man.  Dial back the blitzing and just ask him to play into coverage with his arm.
    • While I wanted Stroud I was ok with the Young pick. I didn’t judge. Not even his first year. No knee jerk reactions. Allowed time to watch him learn. It’s into year three and it’s time. He sucks. It’s true this franchise sucks too obviously with other players AND coaches doing much better after leaving.  Unfortunately it’s a severely dysfunctional franchise and the only thing that will save it is a true generational talent at QB that this inept FO actually lucks into picking or high priced elite vet if that is even possible who would come here over other places or Tepper selling or keeling over. Things that are just unlikely to happen.   The Panthers are literally the new age Browns.
    • I knew he wasn't long for the league the first time he went flying through the air like idgaf.
