I think he did. It has the potential to be a historically productive draft relative to our franchise.

And you have the dubious top 2 selections in 2024, but also Mike Jackson, CSW, Sanders, maybe even Wallace.

I think it's because of this (not mine, tukafan 21 posted it earlier)

"So I just went and looked at the play by play and he had 162 of his 206 yards on just 6 of his 23 carries, which means he had 44 yard on his other 17 carries, or just 2.6 yards per carry."

That is common in rb stats. You pound and pound and then they break.

Good lord people get excited every time Wallace gets to chase down the four defensive players in the nfl slower than him.

Yeah. I am holding out hope he can be serviceable by year three. That is my ceiling for him.

He can be serviceable on special teams which is fine. You need good players on special teams and you can hide their deficiencies.

you can’t unteach slow.

Oh, you may not recall but I isolated him in rewatching a few games last year. I was really disappointed in what I saw.

At the same time, a lot of that slowness could be uncertainty and hesitancy because he is still over his head out there. 3 years.

I would happily take an upgrade and make him depth, no doubt.

Being slow is the least of his problems. He has all the physical tools his problem has been play recognition and processing. If he gets that I think he can be a pretty solid player for us.

He didn't have his system in place that first draft because of Scott getting fired after the season so I give him a pass for 2024 even tho jury is still out on XL and it's a longshot but Brooks looked pretty good in his 10 snaps last year, it's possible with modern medicine he is still a good player.

I agree with PFF almost entirely. I thought Mike Jack struggled yesterday. I think that injury hampered him.

Offense in general was very solid. If bryce doesn't have that ridiculous fumble, he's probably a top 4 player for us. Legette was much better. Primary linebackers had good days. I think were a poor matchup defensively with the dolphins, so the way yesterday transpired really surprised me. Kudos to the players and coaches to adjust after a first quarter in which I thought Darren Waller may break records.

If we can find a pass rush and some linebackers, I love the young group we have on both sides of the ball.

that's totally possible, and i'm not saying he's as bad as unathletic as rosebloom or anything, but ive just never seen him do anything impressive. I've seen him trying to race a RB to the boundary multiple times, plays that don't require any recognition; that is your guy, cover him.

I'm pretty sure I could turn the corner on him and I a MACI procedure done 5 months ago.
