Is Canales digging his own grave?

Again, I simply can't see how that's the case when you look around the rest of the building.

Every other position group has improved (some out of sight) yet he's got a blind spot to the failings of Young and Dalton?

I can't believe that.

Dan Morgan is the GM.  Dan Morgan is also part of the brain trust that drafted Bryce and handicapped this org by doing such.

We know it's easy for Tepper to admit mistakes.  He does it over and over and over and over again.  We don't know that about Dan.  Sure seems when Bryce rose from the dead it cause Dan Morgan to make some really bad decisions.

I think Tepper is a convenient boogeyman people morph to suit narratives.  Does he create issues w/ his impatience?   1000%.  David Tepper doesn't triple down on mistakes.  For all his flaws, Tepper isn't stubborn. He admits mistakes probably too quickly.  Tepper seemed to greenlight moving on last year 2 games in if they wanted it.

1. Trading down to draft Jonathan Brooks in the second;

2. giving washed up Dalton an extension w/ 6M guaranteed;

3. giving Chuba Hubbard a contract extension with 14M guaranteed after you spent so much draft capital at the position:

4. trading into the first round to draft XL when McConkey was available.

I actually don’t blame them for drafting an XL type WR over mcconkey. They were looking for an X WR. Not a slot. Not saying I love the pick. Just that i kinda understand why they went in that direction. Now i think they thought they were drafting a plug and play WR which is not what they drafted. XL is a player you have to scheme open consistently. They don’t seem to be consistently doing that.

If anybody has listened to Canales's pressers, you can tell he is talking out of his ass. Being handicapped by Bryce isn't an excuse, he was quick to bench Bryce last year and if he doesn't believe in Bryce this year then bench him again. It's his decision making that we can judge as a HC, not necessarily how the players play. He was giving Evero so much flack for not playing the young guys on defense when they were clearly outperforming the vets. But he refused to play Rico more than Chubba? If anyone listened to his presser yesterday, he literally said that he gave Chubba more carries because of "what he means to this organization." Canales has a buddy/good guy system, he will give guys that HE likes more opportunity instead of the guy that actually performs. How do you explain David Moore making the roster and starting over other guys.

We're at an impasse. I just don't believe Young hasn't been forced upon Canales and Morgan. Nothing you can say will change that.

I don’t know why the signing of a backup qb is that big a deal to some people. You need a backup qb, they get paid about 5 mil a season, Dalton is as good as any. Role of a backup qb is to be well liked and eh able to come in for 1-2 starts a season. Dalton played like complete ass but so did everyone else. It’s easy to focus on him because hes one guy but did he play worse than the linebackers played collectively?

if you’re saying we should have just tossed a fifth rounder at a qb, then yeah sure, but that means you don’t get the probably pretty good tight end we drafted. And at the end of the day you’re likely just drafting Matt coral again.

this is generally right though. I’m biased towards brooks because i was coming up on shrooms when we drafted him and I think he could have been special. We’ll never know now though.

I mean if Hubbard didn’t get dinged we might have a losing record

just like Bryce I can’t name one thing he excels at, offense is garbage and the team more times than not shows up unprepared in all phases

brought back a dc who field the worst defense in panthers history….

idk how some can look at that and say “yeah we can win with this guy”

Oh, I think Canales had to "try" Bryce.  That lasted 2 games.  They moved on.  The fact the QB room was built so poorly allowed the "comeback".   Now, this season, we had the same QB room issue only Dalton is much worse.

Dan Morgan was Fitterer's right hand man.  I still don't get the mental gymnastics of Dan somehow was secret against all the bad moves and Bryce.

and I 10000% think the GM's office sold Bryce Young to Tepper and won out over Frank (they had more and louder voices).  Dan was part of it.

I know Tepper takes mistakes on the chin and moves on.   We all know that.  I disagree with the notion our QB room is what it is because of Tepper.....it's got to be more Morgan than anyone

Andy daltons stat line from Sunday was 16/24, 175 yards, a pick (on a frankly incredible play by the bills) and a fumble on a hit from behind. That’s basically what you get from Bryce every week.

On that pick, Andy checked into that play and Shaq heard it and called it out. End just jumped the route. Great play all around.

why are we using the same communication language against the guy who wore the green dot and practiced against this team in practice every week as the leader of the defense?

sure would be stupid for an offensive minded head coach who doesn’t have to worry about the defense to overlook something like that.
