Would you be willing to trade Chuba?

Canales was out here handing out participation trophy in the National Football League and some fans were echoing it, "he wanted to give Chuba a chance to win his starting job back."

The way it works usually when a starter gets injured amd comes back he's giving the starting role back because it's assumed he's better than the backup filling in. There's no way based on Chuba's play before the injury and afterwards (Jets game) Canales or anyone else thought Chuba gave us the best chance to win against Buffalo whereas he got the most snaps and the most carries in the game.

I fine it odd that this would be a thing and just a week later he is on the block.
Was Chuba being forced into more carries to showcase him?

Conspiracy theorists come on down.

Chuba is running like a RB that just got a 2nd contract.

Rico is running like a RB on a contract year.

Rico is going to be the more aggressive of the 2 because he's trying to get paid. Contract year performances are what they are. Just don't be the team to pay a big contract based off a contract year.

This.

We should hopefully learn our lesson.  If we somehow ship Chuba, by no means does that translate to signing Rico to a multi-year deal.

Unless we want to find ourselves in the same spot again -- i.e. Brooks looks great in 26' and Rico comes down to earth after we pay him at the cliff age of 28.

One of my worries with Canales is that he mght have a little of Ron Rivera's "let them go out on their own terms" attitude.

Depth chart management was always one of Rivera's weaknesses.

Still don't believe Hubbard is fully healthy yet.

And if he isn't, any judgment made on him will likely be skewed.
