i agree

These two lines had gave me a chuckle:

Season Summary:

All of the close victories. All of the decisive blowouts. All of the rushing yardage that DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart compiled. All of the talk about how the Steve Smith fight brought the team together. All of it meant nothing when Jake Delhomme threw five interceptions against the Cardinals to appease his son's kidnappers. One has to wonder how much money those people bet on the Arizona moneyline.

AND....

Quarterback: What kind of millionaire quarterback uses string traps and glue on the banister to prevent robbers from stealing things/children from inside his house? Get an alarm system next time, Jake, and then you won't have to throw a playoff game. In all seriousness, Delhomme, 34, is in his contract year. If the Panthers can get a good deal on Josh Freeman or Nate Davis, don't expect them to hesitate.

That was pretty funny, but seriously one has to wonder WTH is going on when your starting QB turns the ball over 6 times in a playoff game. But I regress...just found it humorous.

The article was high on humor but devoid of any real substance. Talked about Hackett but didn't mention Jarrett, Carter or Robinson who collectively add good depth.

I doubt we franchise Gross and let Peppers walk. We will posture but in the end we will sign Gross and franchise Peppers for picks. The only way we don't do that is if we can't reasonably get under the cap with Peppers salary. I can't beleive we won't give gross what he wants.

As for defensive line we will need a few guys but for example didn't mention how much better Johnson played last year and that he is a star on the rise. We really need one good DE and one good DT and we might be better than last year.

I wish there were someone who either had real understanding or at least a fresh perspective. Rehashing the same old crap gets pretty boring.

First of all, it's a decent write-up, it's really for people doing mock drafts, or uninformed fans, not exactly for the fans who know everyone on the roster inside and out. The guy stated the needs that have been clearly stated on this board, so I don't really see a problem, and he gives possible scenarios.

You expect this guy to know that a back up DE that didn't play often could be a potential star? Could you do that for other teams in the NFL you don't really study? It's just a quick run-down of each teams basic needs in the draft/FA and whose contract is up.

It was humorous but once you make two turnovers (or even one?)... it can really get into your head and start screwing things up.

Sadly there are people that think they know it all and have to be a critic of everything someone says on this board. Some are worse than other but like I said Sadly they live their lives to contradict everyone else.

I as you thought the article was well written and pretty much hit the nail on the head of our needs. With the lack of a #1 pick (for now) Marty will be tasked with getting the most out of our picks. If he is remotely able to duplicate 2008 NFL Draft we will be solid again.

Go Panthers

    • Sometimes its fun to read the threads/posts.  The panthers could literally hire a groundskeeper and we'd have a thread "improving the field for no other reason to prop up Bryce Young".  Apparently no move is ever done to actually make the team better.  All a conspiracy to just focus on Bryce Young. Or suddenly daydreaming and reminiscing about Sam Darnold when he was hated more than Bryce Young.  Its really fun to do a message board search about Darnold during that time period.   Or thinking there is just a tree that grows QB, and you can just easily go up and pluck one.
    • Yeah okay. We as an organization have been more patient with him than many. And there has been a small parade of guys drafted since he was, also to bad teams, that have passed him. Some have lapped him. As a fan I am out of patience but he gets this year it is out of my hands always has been. I just hope the bar is higher than it has been for him.    FWIW, XL dropped two passes last year. He did do some other bad stuff, just saying.
    • Except it takes those QB's a few years to develop because they needed to learn the mental side of the game and have it catch up to their physical attributes. Bryce was supposed to be a QB savant who already had a fully developed mental side of the game and that was going to make up for his lack of physical ability.  And his lack of NFL level QB physical traits has been clear as day to anyone who has watched him the last 3 years, mainly, he just doesn't have an NFL arm, he can't zip the ball into tight spaces or throw on a line down the field like is needed at this level.
