Unpopular opinion - DC might be a bigger problem than Bryce

This might not be a big deal but it actually drives me nuts when we have our little Bobby Boucher "slap hands" moments going into the locker room. It feels fake as phuck. It feels like most of the leadership and corporate meetings I get on where people just spew slogans and absolute nonsense ad nauseum in the name of being positive. I don't know what's actually going on behind the scenes as far as instilling a culture goes, but the one we see publicly feels like a weak facade. Dave is like a youth pastor who sometimes calls great football plays.

Which side of the ball are the money and draft picks heavy on? How much does a former number 1 OVERALL need to score more than 17 points? Yet the damn defense is somehow supposed to be the Ravens of old and hold teams to under 17-20 points in the NFL. With what talent? The defense is playing above their talent level. Im not even an Evero defender but you BY9 huggers are so full of it its pitiful.

In case you didn't know, DC refers to Canales, not Evero.

Evero has done fine this year

Disagree, but it doesn't matter.

Evero's contract is up at season's end and I haven't seen anyone suggest the Panthers will bring him back.

Evero has his weaknesses, but it's hard to tell how much of it is him when we have a comically bad pass rush.

Crazy enough, this is probably the most I have seen him blitz this year and I think it failed every single time. Usually our only chance at a sack is if DB beats the double team and gets interior pressure. Otherwise, the QB will have at least 5 seconds to throw the ball

You want to place all the blame on one guy because you don’t understand ball. Yeah we have money tied up in an offensive line that can’t pass block well, and wasn’t run blocking well yesterday.

2nd and 21 and Bryce threw the best pass this franchise has seen in easily 7 years for a touchdown

Still amazed he wasn't fired after last year.

Announcers questioned yesterday why Derrick Brown was backed off in pass coverage on an important down. Likewise, he had guys playing way too far off the line (past the first down sticks) all too often.

Expect he's gone next year either way.

Most likely he will be gone. Another team that has more talent on defense will definitely hire him.

I get frustrated at a lot of Evero's playcalls also, but let's remember that we are rocking JAGs at like half the spots on our defense. The likes of Wharton, LaBryan Ray, Whitney Houston's ex-husband, whatever turd of the week ILB we have, etc. aren't going to be found on the rosters of the NFL defenses that people think are good...

When you refuse to draft defensive players in the first 2 rounds for practically 5 years straight while spending most of your free agent money on offense, this is the talent you are stuck with on defense

Is this persons opinion supposed to be gospel? The fever to defend mediocrity is astounding.

Josh Norris is a well known lover of Bryce.   I don't think anyone can say with a straight face that he played "very well" yesterday.   Had 1 great throw and 2 scrambles.   Outside of that pretty meh.  That has to drive the coaches insane

    • No saying he mostly sucks is saying that he doesn’t suck the minority of the time.   Like if he took 17 tests and had a couple of really good showings and a handful of pretty good scores sprinkled in among the typical sub par results.   Like a golfer who went out and shot an 89.  There will be some real nice shots sprinkled in there but at the end of the day it is still 89.
    • It's worth mentioning... Game 1: Oct 11 in Raleigh. 4-3 OT win with a complete starting lineup. Game 2: Dec 13 in Philly. 4-3 SO win without Jaccob Slavin. Game 3: Dec 14 in Raleigh. 3-2 SO win with a complete starting lineup. Game 4: Apr 13 in Philly. 3-2 SO loss with the AHL roster.  Those early season games were no indication of the Canes team that finished the season. Miller and Ehlers were still trying to figure things out, Nikishin was still a work in progress and the Stankoven line was just another line. Make no mistake, the Canes team Philly will see is nothing close to what they saw at any point in the season. If the top line starts producing, Freddie stays hot and the blue line does what it does, this could be a sweep as well.
