We've clearly established that Evero is NOT the guy. So why is he here? Wasn't he a package deal when Canales was hired? Didn't our owner basically force Evero to stay this year and refused an interview request? But I thought he was no longer meddling?

I thought he was basically foisted on Reich. Not sure who was responsible for hiring him. Fitterer? Tepper with his Rooney Rule lite draft pick aspirations?
And under contract and subsequently foisted on Canales.

Who would we get? Really don’t need to retool to 4-3, I don’t think. So a 3-4.

Top NFL defenses in "Havoc" which is the % of plays a defense gets a pressure, TFL, forced fumble, INT, or pass breakup: We rank at the bottom of the league in this department.

No one is disagreeing with the data in your text. We know we need pass rushers to get more pressure on the QBs, better play in the secondary to improve our pass defense, and some impact guys at LB. But, Evero isn't playing with a stacked deck. Our defensive roster is mediocre at best.

Despite our talent deficiency, Evero has statistically managed to field a middle of the road defense in Carolina. Our main issue is on the offensive side of the ball. We are only averaging 18.9 points per game. That ranks 28th of out of 32 teams. Only the Browns, Saints, Titans, and Raiders score less points per game than the Panthers.

FYI: We've been outscored by the woeful Saints 37-24 in our 2 games this season. Our point total averages out to 12 pts a game and theirs is less than 20 (actually 18.5 pts per game). How is that Evero's fault?

I heard this discussed in a podcast earlier and i agree

the disruption factor doesnt exist in evero’s world

totally predictable

i donr know what it was when he was a coordinator in Denver but i remembered hearing that ‘he was handed a loaded defense’ And state declined, now that comment didn't  go into other factors like injuries etc

I don’t know at this point. I haven’t really checked Wash out. He is here already so I would look at him.

I might or probably would expect there will be some HC is out of a job and was a successful DC before being a HC. Probably start there.
I really want Luke lol but that probably couldn’t happen.

Here’s another i didn’t know until watching some of the film reviews

they had Derek Brown dropping back inpass coverage on the penalty he received by hitting Shough

in what world do you have your best interior lineman doing that

The rams did the same thing against Seattle and it worked. But 9/10 it wont but the world is definitely evolving.

He wasn't a Reich guy. That was the attempt to go spend money on an "all-star" coaching staff that had limited ties to each other. It led to all the backstabbing and snitching.

Evero is a Tepper/Fitterer guy. He wasn't a Canales choice.

    • There is a Grand Canyon-sized chasm between your opinion and the opinions of most former player hockey guys who do this for a living.
    • I can only imagine the **** eating grins on the committee right now. "Oh, Bama didn't deserve it? Oh, Miami didn't deserve it? Suck it, haters!" lol
    • To say that, is gaslighting, because it isn’t true. I mean, maybe one or two people do that but it isn’t the predominant behavior. Even Frank has given him credit. I think particularly the Rams game. A couple of glowing posts.   I know I have. Gotta be honest about it because if you aren’t it undermines what else you say.  But the degree of how far I go with credit, in terms of it being a projection of future performance? Not very far. Acknowledge it, but require more of it. There is a lot of bad play to offset.    I tried to remain passive while the last 9 games (post ankle injury) played out. It is just really hard when the lows won’t go away. I failed. As high as a couple of those highs were, there isn’t enough.    I know it is premature to just say I want to move on, made my decision after 6 of those games ended up pretty much really good or not good enough, but I have had enough of being patient and letting him show the reality either way.  So in my view, he Could still validate himself to a decent degree if he smokes the last three starts. But also in my view I don’t expect to see it. Maybe one more high quality start, would be my expectation. So yes he could still somehow justify having the job next year. If that happened I still wouldn’t have much faith given the last three years and all that has transpired. Again, there is a lot of bad play to offset.
