Canes vs Sabres 1:30

Saw Shane Willis out in the concourse. I didn’t remember him being that stout. Anyways, Willis definitely had a buzz, you could clearly see it in his interviews. Should have bought him a beer, oh well maybe next time.

Out here in the parking lot hanging out with Alex Tuch’s uncle. Awesome guy. Drinking Vodka with him. However, everyone else with him are canes fans so we are drowning him out! lol

Not sure why either of those would be that surprising.

I've only been to a handful of games in the decade or so since I moved from Raleigh and have ran into a players' dad drinking in the tailgate lot damn near every time.

As far as Shane, dude is puffy and bleary-eyed damn near every broadcast. And, it was a very poorly kept secret that our longest tenured media member was tying one on prior to games for years without anyone intervening. I wouldn't be surprised at all.

I’m just reporting my experience at the game. I don’t really care if anyone believes me. I’m not posting here for credibility, I’m just sharing what I know and what’s going on. Yes Willis was plastered, and Tuchs uncle showed several pictures of Tuch after games. I think he was from Vermont. Anyways, he was with some canes fans that are family, and one of those family members is on the board and talked about projects going on around the arena. They were going to hang out with Alex after the game. Again, don’t care if you believe me, just stating what went on yesterday.

It’s called ball busting. While your story seems tall, it also sounds fun. Did Tuchs uncle give you any insight that he would play here?

No, he mainly talked about rarely getting to see him and not begging him for tickets. He did state that he had to pay 1/2 price for his tickets to our game. He is Alex father’s brother. He was a nice guy, drank grey goose with me. He showed me some pictures of Alex taking picture with fans and family. Neat experience. The board member talked a lot about the arena and projects that are way behind. The Willis incident was random and happened towards the end of the first period. Willis is pretty stout. Other than that, more storm brews and a 2-1 win, it was a great day. I’m am curious what happened to Primo subs, anyone know?

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised by that bit about Shane. He was one of the players that went out partying a lot when he was playing.

    • I wonder if they'd consider trading Rasheed Walker to a team that needs tackle help but missed out in the draft?
    • LOL. This is such a Panthers fan take.  Anyone who falls to us must suck because some other team didn't take them before.  We got lucky with Lemon, Thieneman, and Freeling all falling to us (honestly any of the three is a A+) but the WR and S positions are much deeper than the LT position in this draft.  We got the LT w/ the most upside at 19.  Mauigoa played RT in college and some think he is a guard in the nfl.  Spano played RT in college and some think he is a guard in the NFL due to short arms.  Blake Miller played RT in college and is not as good as Freeling.  Proctor is a true LT but his ability to handle quick edge's worries me (see Icky).  Freeling is a true LT and a gifted pass protector.  Many think he has a very high ceiling and will benefit from not having to start right away.  This is how you build a franchise.
    • After watching Cam get killed for years behind a bad Oline and having to watch the 2021 and 2023 Olines I will never complain about this team putting resources into that spot.  We got a true LT who could really push Rasheed Walker for the day 1 job. Go back and watch Iceky's draft profile from 2022 and all the talk was Ickey would be an all-pro guard in a zone blocking scheme, but he could play LT in a gap power run scheme. That's why Ickey looked really good when Wilks took over and we just started running gap run plays and just mauled people up front but under Canales we've been more of a zone running team. Ickey can survive at LT with his pass blocking but his true strength will always be his ability to just move guys in the run game and that's a skill set that's better used at guard.  Take another OT later on day 3 to learn from Moton to take over RT in a couple of years and let Walker and Freeling battle it out for the day 1 LT job then next offseason trade one of Hunt of Lewis and let Ickey move inside to guard.
