How about 60 mins of hockey vs 2. Get that win boys.

Did I miss something Thursday night? I don't post when I'm at the game, but, reading the game thread back, did you actually go an entire game without letting us know how you feel about the Miller signing?

But, let's be real, Gostisbehere was directly responsible for assisting on 2 of Utah's goals, and Chatty assisted on a 3rd. The Mammoth's 4th goal came on a no-call slash that took Walker's stick out of his hands and Stankoven was tripped on the same play.

Trade* and Ghost evened out at a min.

And he's not wrong checked moneypuck and Miller has a team leading (by far) 76 giveaways....  and almost 10% more expected goals against vs scored when he's on the ice.

I never said he wasn't wrong.

I'm simply pointing out that Miller is the only guy being consistently lambasted.

And, what Moneypuck doesn't mention about the 76 giveaways is the fact that Miller has been paired on all 3 lines and with every blue liner on the team thanks to injuries.

The blue line has been a mess all year and it almost feels like it's coming back together.

Yeah I was there so I don’t post a lot either when I’m at the games.  Miller I don’t think was bad actually last game EXCEPT 1 min into the game he had an awful turnover right in front of Bussi where the cross bar bailed us out. Miller has been ok. Like Chris said, he gets lazy and turns it over waaaaayy too much.  It’s no secret, I’m not a fan and think he is the worst Dman out of our 6. Can’t do the powerplay and with his turnovers, I get nervous each time he is on the ice. Honestly, I’d take Burns and Orlov over him. Definitely burns.

ghost wasn’t great until he was. I expected rust from him.

Now let’s talk about Boom. He was downright bad last game. For some reason, he still won’t body a guy and would rather play the puck. I thought Rod was going to bench him for the 3rd. But, he is young and will learn.

The blue line IS Rods strength.  It has been THE reason the team looks like a mess at times. I do agree that if they can just play with the same players over and over, it will be better and go back to really limiting other teams grade As in front of our goalies.

Per my post earlier, I got me thinking about miller burns and Orlov. So I looked up this year’s stats. Miller is clearly worse than Burns and Orlov. Should have just resigned Burns on the count that he doesn’t get hurt and plays every game.

Edit* sorry for the light shade of the text, not sure how to fix it.

1. Ke'Andre Miller (Carolina Hurricanes - D)

Following his move to Carolina, Miller has been a top defender for the Hurricanes.

2025-26 Stats (approx. through late Jan 2026): 4 goals, 15 assists, 19 points (44 games).

Performance: He has been a consistent top-pairing option, averaging over 22 minutes of ice time per game, with a plus-minus of +2.

Status: Active. Recently missed a game due to a lower-body injury in late December 2025, but quickly returned.

2. Brent Burns (Colorado Avalanche - D)

After departing Carolina, the veteran defender signed a one-year contract with the Colorado Avalanche for the 2025-26 season.

2025-26 Stats (approx. through late Jan 2026): 8 goals, 17 assists, 25 points (52 games).

Performance: Continues to be productive at age 40, leading with a +25 rating in this period.

Status: Active.

3. Dmitry Orlov (San Jose Sharks - D)

After departing Carolina, Orlov signed with the San Jose Sharks.

2025-26 Stats (approx. through late Jan 2026): 1 goal, 22 assists, 23 points.

I dont put that much stock into the +/- in this case. Everybody on the Avs team is +20 or better thus season... it's unreal.

    • Didn't  see this posted (since 2023) but since folks have been posting that you can't judge a draft class for three years (a ridiculous take), I thought I'd post this to see what people thought about the 2023 draft. Unfortunately this may not be the most interesting class to do this with but I do quite like retrospective draft grades. Would appreciate other's takes on this (and other recent) draft classes.   1(1) - Bryce Young QB: I am a bigger Bryce Young apologist than most (maybe all). I like the kid. But there is no way around it: This was a terrible pick. If he had been picked in the 4th or even the 3rd round I would feel pretty good about it. But this was the first overall pick that we gave up two firsts, our best offensive player to get.  GRADE: C -    2(39) - Jonathan Mingo WR: not much to say here here. He was here for two years. His yards per catch are on par with Bryce's yards per pass. Rough stuff. To date he has still never scored a touchdown in the NFL GRADE: F   3(80) - DJ Johnson OLB: a pick I hated as soon as it happened and an example of why the premise of this thread is honestly dumb. This was a bad pick when it happened. Most people knew it.  Then came training camp and he did not look good. Then came the preseason which confirmed what we saw in TC. Then came the season which confirmed what we saw in preseason. To date, he has half a sack in his career. GRADE: F 4 (114) Chandlers Zavala G: Honestly the best pick of this draft which really speaks to how awful this draft is. Other than Bryce, the only pick still on the team. He is mostly average or below average depth which in round 4 is not terrible. But he had a pff score of 43.5 and though I think people have unrealistic expectations for draft picks, I still would want a little more from a fourth round pick GRADE: C+   5 (145) - Jammie Robinson S: I liked the pick when it happened but ended up being a disappointment. He logged 1 tackle with the falcons last year and not enough snaps to get a grade on PFF.  GRADE: F OVERALL DRAFT GRADE: F
    • You gonna make me post Stank before every game?  I kid, I kid.
