Liam Neeson in Schindlers List is my favorite role, and probably my favorite movie.

For me, it depends more on the role than the actor. For example, I am not a big fan of Cruise, but he was really good in Jerry Maguire and Valkryie. Russel Crowe in Gladiator, 3:10 to Yuma, Robinhood, Beautiful Mind and especially Master and Commander was excellent. And I like several of Tom Hanks movies.
