The lockout is going to happen today and look PATHETIC in light of Japan

Thousands dead in Japan and we have billionaires and millionaires fighting over how rich the other gets to be less than 24 hours later. Talk about a PR nightmare if they do decide to pull the decertification/lockout today.

By the way, if you haven't done so, text REDCROSS to 90999 to give $10 to Japanese relief efforts today.

One has absolutely nothing to do with the other and to draw any comparisons or parallels is just desperate sensationalism at it's best.

...They have everything to do with one another. If the lockout happens tonight, the evening news will lead tomorrow with "NFL LOCKS PLAYERS OUT IN DISPUTE OVER BILLIONS" followed by "JAPAN CONTINUES TO COUNT ITS DEAD IN WAKE OF THEIR WORST EARTHQUAKE IN THEIR HISTORY". Now how does that juxtaposition look to your average Joe Blow?

Japan leads, no matter what.

I feel bad for Japan but I will not donate money unless I know exactly where it is going. Especially after all the BS with the united way. If 1/3 of the US donated $10, that would be around 1 billion to the Red Cross. Japan would not even see half of that. Red Cross is a non profit organization yet their CEO makes over 500k a year. To top it off most non profit organizations are tax exempt.

don't get me wrong, 500k is a lot of money, but that's not exactly big money for a CEO.

Oh I know but they may want to consider changing non profit to something more fitting. Also that is a lot of money when you are tax exempt. I mean look at how much people who run churches make. A guy where I live who has 3 churches in the area nets over 5 million a year and owns 3 homes in the area that were all well over 1 million dollars.

    • Would absolutely love to have him. I dont think he would require more than a 5th rounder. The biggest thing with his contract is the amount of guaranteed money. As long as they can work out and scenario where the Panthers aren't on the hook for a lot of that, I think it's a no-brainer. The Panthers can come up with $20M at the drop of a hat with restructuring Moton's contract, so there definitely isn't an issue from a money perspective. Jaycee paired with Ramsey along with Mike Jack would give us one of the best CB groups in the league. The one caveat I see is that safety still remains our biggest current weakness. We need a starting caliber S more than CB, simply put. But adding someone like Ramsey would be amazing as long as the compensation made sense. Ramsey could also play for FS snaps also. I also dont understand this nonsense about being seasons away. We have a QB on a rookie deal who was playing at an elite level to end last season. Within reason, now is absolutely the time to make moves like trading for Ramsey.
    • He'd be a huge upgrade for this year, but we're still not going to be contenders with him and I'd rather keep the cap space to roll into next season to spend on a younger player who can be an impact starter for us for the next 3-5 years while we're hoping to contend.
    • Because playoff hockey and regular season hockey aren’t the same thing.  It’s a combination of the game intensity being dialed up with loose officiating.
