you think he has more talent than hasselbeck

i think he's more comparable to redman

but yet i'm trollin'

Yes I think he has more natural talent than Hasselbeck, what he does with it is up to him.

You think his career so far has been comparable to redman, which is asinine.

They aren't comparable on any level.

Out of all realistic and non old ass vet mentor QBs, Moore is the best available.

I kind of think this is an absolutely correct statement. I have posted more than a few times that the Panthers will take one of two free agent paths--get a vet to provide backup help if needed (like a Billy Volek), or get a rising player who may be ready to start, but is parked behind an entrenched guy (Caleb Hanie, for example). If they go the former route, I just can't think of anyone better than Moore.

There is a third possibility--getting a Palmer (doubtful) or another experienced starter to take the reigns for a couple of years. If that's the case, then Moore is going to be at someone else's camp if he has a smidgen of intelligence.

I would really like to think that the Moore of 2009 is the real one. He didn't play lights-out but did a good job protecting the football and somehow inspired the defense to hold the opponents to under 10 points per contest in his four victories--something Jimmy Clausen has yet to do. But seriously, all we need is a game manager, right? Someone who won't turn the ball over, and who can keep the defense from crowding the line of scrimmage.

If Moore can do that better than he did in 2010, that's great. If he can't, I'm sure Clausen can, or even Pike with his noodle-arm (hey, he's had a year in an NFL strength program!). And if the Panthers front office believes it about their second year QBs, that may be all that's needed for Moore to get another legitimate shot at being the starting QB again.

if he had as much talent as Hasselbeck he would've risen already. But he hasn't, because he doesn't

I still don't see a 2005 scouting report on Matt Moore???

I still don't feel it's a forgone conculsion that Moore beats Jimmy in a TC battle both starting from the same point like this year would be.

Great. We're all just sharing our opinions but based on what I've seen of the two players and the tools they bring, I believe in my own personal opinion that isn't worth more than anyone else but yours that he would beat out ole Jim Clausen.

That's not the way it always works, especially with a coach like Fox. Hasselbeck sat for 5 years before he got the job and battled with Trent Dilfer. So far in their careers, Moore is winning, and winning hard.

but why keep settling for a game manager? to be considered an elite team we must have a good qb. or franchise qb.

You need to be more clear on who you consider good or franchise. They often differ in many circles. If Moore played even close to where he played in 09, I'd be more than happy with that.

no he sat for 3 years, got extensive playing time and started 12 games in 01, played well in 02. Oh and conveniently we forget the first 3 years in the league the starter on the team he'd been a part of was Brett Favre. Moore never had a guy like Brett to keep him from getting his opportunities as a starter

no moore is not winning

moore had jake delhomme, and though people on this board seem to have forgotten, there was a time when he was a good quarterback... but more than that, he was a fiery and passionate leader that the players and coaches loved.

No rookie or hell anyone but Jake Delhomme himself was going to cost Jake his job. To think otherwise is delusional.

yeah man why didn't Moore play in 2006 damn him. in 2007 he made the most of his opportunities, going 2-1 as a starter, glad you remember. in 2008, Jake returned and played fine overall save for a couple games and the disastrous playoffs. based on your mentioning of 2009 I am going to assume you forgot Moore did in fact take over as QB that year.

what exactly do you think about them giving Jake a big contract after 2008? do you think it was because fox and co wanted to find a new quarterback and thought we lacked stability at the position?

TRD may be bias towards Moore but you're clearly the opposite.

edit: come on, this is Fox we're talking about. You really think he was going to play Moore over Jake in 2008 even if Moore hadn't have broken his leg? No fugging way, especially considering the fact Jake actually had some good games that year.

that's what the organization believed and wanted you to believe

As many have stated, Jake was our established QB whether you want to admit it or not. We can debate whether Jake deserved to be our QB, but Fox wasn't going to start anyone over a healthy Jake. That would make him an established QB.
