No, because that kind of defense isn't sustainable over the long-run. Only an elite QB can make a team SB contenders every single year.

Dynasties are made with Defense and Great QBs.

New England and Pittsburgh are the only multiple winners in the last decade. They've both had fearsome defenses on the field and have LOST in the superbowl when their defenses were slightly underpar. Offense is the fastest road to winning one superbowl(Indy,NO, GB). But to be a multiple year contender, you need defense too. I'd start with the one that requires more pieces to fulfill. and then settle in a better QB.

Sure, nobody is arguing that. And yes, I agree with Seamonk - championship franchises are made with franchise QB's AND great defenses. I think we'll be fine on the defensive side once Rivera and McDermott gets their hands dirty and have a year or two to put the talent in place.

I think we'll be elite defensively for a while, but that won't fix the QB issues and any QB we draft is going to take a couple years before they can realistically be expected to take us to the playoffs and go anywhere once there. Might as well start now.

I dont think any qb in this draft would improve our team any better than a palmer or a mcnabb. draft pp7 and a solid dt and we would have a fearsome D. the other side of this is when are we going to have the opportunity to select the top qb in a draft again?

We don't have a sucky offense anyways. Horrible play calling ruined us last year. I am not saying QB play will be any better this year, but we have an assload of weapons and a very good offensive coordinator.

Moore had more TDs to the left side of the field this year than Jimmy had TDs to any part of the field.
