Coaching staff did care. Jake was able to run this offense effectively at times and Moore had some very effective games as well. Clausen never even had one great game. A couple of okay ones but no great games or even great moments.

If he improves he will still only be at Jake Delhomme's level.

Jake did not play for this coaching staff during their lame duck season.

Not blaming all of Jimmy's failures last season on the coaching staff....but they are part of the reason.

Clausen was told by Fox to not take chances and just manage the game. Jimmy was afraid to throw it downfield and risk an interception. Fox instructed him to check it down rather than take a chance.

I am not on the Clausen Bandwagon....as I am not sure if he is a legit QB or not. But, I am smart enough not to make knee-jerk judgements on a rookie AB...on a bad team...with a lame duck coaching staff.

If you would have put ANY rookie QB in that situation.....they would have FAILED.

Once he posts it online, some retardo on here makes a thread about it and you all piss and moan over it for days insulting each other in the process with your Armchair GM genius. Then writers with "credentials" claim they are the ones that know the score and write about it on some "respected" website. So someone on here makes a thread about it and we call the columnist a damn fool and tear it to shreds and it spawns into 10,000 other pointless threads about crap no one knows about.

JR knows. Marty knows. Ron knows. Other coaches on staff know. That's about it.

Regardless I think you would be doing the entire franchise a disservice by just sitting around and hoping Clausen suddenly grows three inches.

When you have a guy who played as poor as Clausen you go ahead and start putting the pieces in place to make a move if he doesn't suddenly become a pro bowler.

If you draft a QB and Clausen suddenly becomes a respectable starter you suddenly have a lot of value in either Clausen or whatever QB you picked up in the draft. Whichever you would be willing to part with.

BUT to sit back and not do anything and hope that Clausen suddenly becomes good is exactly what we did with Jake his last 4 years he was here.

Honestly, we should have addressed the QB position 3 years ago and let him play behind Jake and we could have avoided some of this stuff we are having to deal with now.
