Latest WalterFootball.com Consensus Big Board

I'm not hating on anybody, sweetness...I'm just pointing out that these people sometimes get it wrong, especially when it comes to QB's. The people at Walter football thought JC was a can't miss prospect...that is a fact. Obviously it wasn't just one man's opinion either, since they had him at #1 overall on their consensus mock.

This doesn't prove anything about Cam Newton, except that they could be wrong about him, just like you could be wrong about him.

Thanks, sweetie?

It's just funny how every time a negative thing comes out about Cam, people jump as hard as they can to discredit the author or site or whatever even though everyone knows they are wrong sometimes. Stop pointing that out, we get it already.

If you don't like this consensus big board, maybe try and find another one? You said Walter gets it wrong sometimes but this isn't a Walter BB, it has ESPN, NFL, etc people's inputs (and yes we know they were wrong once too).

The moral of all your posts is Cam Newton. Move along, sugar tits

See my edit above...I couldn't find a consensus big board for last year, but their consensus mock had JC at #1 to the Rams, so I doubt their consensus big board was much different than the one I posted.

Walter was high on Clausen, that's true. He's not always right. The OP didn't even link to his big board though as far as I could tell, because the consensus big board included non-Walterfootball 'experts'. FWIW, Walter is likely to mock Newton #1 overall because he switches between Gabbert and Newton depending on Schefter. But as you implied, he gets it wrong pretty often and who he likes as the #1 QB isn't necessarily the #1 QB.

Still, last year's "expert consensus mock" that the Walter guys put together had Bradford #1 overall and Clausen going at #9. Still not accurate, but yarh

http://walterfootball.com/draft2010experts.php

Their consensus mock compilation of 300 sites one in Feb did say Clausen #1 overall. Haha, how wrong they were... but then again, that was a long time before the draft.

I don't put much in mocks, but I do find them interesting to look at. Same with big boards. Consensus big boards among 'experts' are interesting because *sometimes* the experts have a bit more knowledge than the average dude putting out a mock on the net, but that is not always true at all, lol

Now that's funny.:D

As for the rest...who cares? It's just a bunch of self proclaimed "experts" making guesses. That's all.

I don't think they are self proclaimed.

I am a self proclaimed expert, they are actual experts, proclaimed by other people, including their employers.

A big board is not really guesses. A mock is more of a guessing game and a big board is based on analysis. Keep trying, baby doll.

Of course it's all guesses. They may be semi educated guesses, but they are still guesses. Hell, I guarantee you that almost every one of those experts had Duke Robinson rated better than the 5th round, but it turns out that even the 5th was too high, unless he can get his act together pretty darn fast. Most of these experts never even meet a lot of these players face to face. They're relying on the same information that we have access to, for the most part.

they had Clausen rated as the #1 QB last year......his play and the way the draft unfolded (the guy paid to scout dictating) pretty much confirm they aren't actual experts.

Define they and then define consensus.

Yes everyone misses occasionally, but many had Clausen rated a second round talent.

Again, this isn't Walterfootball's big board, this is a consensus big board

"they", as in the people this thread is about and you are claiming are actual experts.

They did not have Clausen as 2nd round talent.

Some of the they that contributed data to this big board DID have Clausen as a second round talent. Many did NOT have him at the #1 QB in the draft by the time draft time rolled around.

Walterfootball did NOT create the big boards that make up this consensus, they merely pooled them.

Right, but with the QBs relatively low on the averaged big board, they seem like a despeartion reach at #1. If we do draft a QB at number that is EXACTLY what it'll be, a desperation reach.

It's supply and demand. With 9 of the top 10 teams needing QBs, and only 2 available at the top of the draft.. they will go high.

Here's another 2010 big board that has Jimmy Clausen as the #2 overall prospect...http://www.footballfanspot.com/nfldraftbigboard2010.htm

It wasn't just Walterfootball who thought highly of him. In fact, the only experts that had him lower, were the one's who thought he had an attitude problem...it had nothing to do with his skill set. They all thought he had an elite football IQ and would transition easily in to the pro game. They all put a lot of stock in the pro style offense that Charlie Weis ran at ND, but, in reality, that didn't mean squat in 2010 because he was still struggling to get the plays called on time even late in the season, not to mention reading the defenses and finding the open receivers.
