Pac 12 may consider playing on Sundays

For Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott, the possibilities are endless in his quest to make his league more relevant nationally.

That’s why Scott has given thought to playing some of his league’s games on Sundays this fall should the NFL season not be played because of labor strife.

Scott doesn't think it'll ultimately get that far. Still, this isn't the kind of thing I want to hear :(

In previous discussion of this, college officials seemed to dismiss the idea entirely.

I don't like that things are to a point in the labor discussion that people are giving this serious thought.

I wouldn't worry so much. They are moneymakers, if it will make them money they'll think it over whether it is possible or not. It is actually pretty smart exposure wise but it sounds to me like you're holding your breath.

I dont wanna read too far into this. I dont think Scott has reliable evidence that there will be no NFL he is just getting preparded just in case. A lot of NFL owners believe there will still be a season

I'd be surprised if more leagues didn't play on Sunday if the NFL didn't have games.

But it will.

Meh. Scott is the most forward thinking person in all of college football. At the very least this is great, free pub for him and the Pac10(12). I assure you the owners aren't divulging information to him for his benefit.

I think that's a great sign. I'm already resigned to a lock out, so I've been saying this is a great chance for college football to take advantage of Sundays.
