Work related question

Your start time for work each day is 7:30am.

Your boss opens the building and once every 2 or 3 months he's 5 or 10 minutes late for various reasons.

Being an hourly employee, do you feel entitled to be paid for the 5 or 10 minutes he's late, since you could have been working and on the clock in that time?

Or, do you just let it slide because it's not that big of a deal?

I'm not the boss in this scenario FYI

Yes....hourly employees typically don't make very much money and they most likely live check to check. Every little bit helps and it isn't fair for them to have to work an extra 10 minutes those days because the boss was late. Plus, shouldn't the boss be there like 20-30 minutes before any of the hourly folks show up?

Edit: even though it isn't much money....probably more the point of the matter. If a company tries to dock me $.25, I'm pissed.

What's going on is my assistant opens the building every day for me at 7:30. He used to come in ridiculously early to ride the clock so I had to make the start time 7:30 sharp.

We also have an accounting girl who likes to start early to beat all the reports spooling company wide, which is fine.

However, he lives in Lincolnton and sometimes traffic can be a bitch as we all know. About once in every 2 or 3 months he's late, but only 5 or 10 minutes.

On these days the accounting girl changes her time card to read 7:30 and it just bugs the crap outta me. She also gets paid extra to take the mail to the post office, which is 2 blocks away AND is something I used to do without expecting (or getting) extra compensation.

I just don't agree with how she handles it and was curious what the wise huddle thought

Doesn't seem like a battle I would care about, especially if she is a good worker. Consider it a perk of the job. We are talking about $100 a year or something?

    • Another layer to that is Ive seen Seattle has been in the market for CB help this off-season.   Michael had a higher PFF grade than Horn who got 15 games this season. He wants to be here too, that's a huge bonus for any 5 win team that had awful pass rush.  The 7th rounder Michael Barrett didn't last long on Seattle, he was cut before the season I think and ended up on browns PS. He's already been on 5.......5 teams within one year.......
    • You have gave the board some recent gold via posting. Heres my poor attempt at the truthful play-by-play of the time during post- I pulled out the old laptop to do my shitposting and check on websites. Open the huddle and see this new thread. Open thread and read CRAs post, {inner thinking, oooOOooo this is my lane and I got this}. Make sure not to scroll even to the 2nd post. 23% of current neurons still firing start up and two names appear- Captain and Josh....... about another 43 seconds past "O GOD" it's July 4th weekend and I got medicine to pick up. (If the laptop didn't give away my aging, the meds should...) I need to split, think long panther careers and the hint-  Ryan Kalil was a late 2nd and Pro bowls(even all-pros too) he's got to be OLman and Mikie Minter is among the all-time Panthers career leaders. Drop my post. Scramble to get keys, wallet, and phone. Check my phone- its 17% battery.....fug I now have to raw dog the pickup line and put the phone on charge.... Flip flops, sweat ringed filled hat, and shades acquired. Get in my pos rav4 and think about not running the A/C. Pull out the drive way and reach the 1st stop light, A/C is wide open. I check my shirt to see if there's any new stains on my house shirt, bush off the Bojangles salt that I see.... Neurons re-fire and focus on the comments CRA made that no one would get this....... Dang IT, that means it isn't Ryan Kalil or Mike Minter! CVS is close, but I know its impossible I get back withing 10 minutes to change my post and my phone is on the charger. {Think you monkey, at one point you were a draft nerd}. Reach the CVS line, by some grace its not 5 cars deep during 5 o'clock traffic hell. Im second in line after the car in front of me both turn in, they have to go back and forth to line up while Im a pro for that geometry. Neurons finally reach peak performance as Ive re-thought draft classes. Think obscure and unknown 7th rounders with long careers. Some Sunday/Monday night member berry fell out of my Melon, Will montgomery during the players intros for washington. I thought he out of the league and was shocked to see him still playing around the 2015 years. I do a goggle background check and that refreshed memory. Pick up the meds and enjoy the sweet smelling cool CVS air. Driving back and check in on one of the local bums at the big stop light, wow he's got a new fancy rug. Think about all the old food I got and need to start giving it away and rethink it. Reach home and post a follow up and I know Minter is wrong too, I check the draft history and see Robert Mcclain. Too late, but that would have been my guess....open CRAs link and get "upset" at the DBs name.
