L.A. Noire

No you can't shoot hookers in the face. So far the only time you're able to pull out a weapon is if you are chasing criminals, and the game automatically decides when you can pull it out...i.e. you can't just walk around and pull out your weapon any time you want. This is nothing like GTA so if you're expecting that you will be disappointed. It is what it says it is...a game based on 1940's style crime noirs. It is slow paced and deliberate for the most part. Investigating crime scenes and interrogating witnesses make up a great part of the game. There are random crimes (40 in all) that you can respond to over the radio. I've only responded to two of these so far and they generally end up with some gunplay.

The acting is top notch and the things they did with the faces is amazing. There is some slowdown in some parts I've noticed, but nothing too bad.

Yeah, that's why it wasn't as good. Sometimes I just wanna take a break from the story arc in those kind of games and go do killing sprees and poo.

But I liked the story and the gunfights, and the way the time changes would alter the environment.

Just wish it hadn't been so point a to point b.

Plus beating up a rapist in a prison shower was pretty hawt.

And there are titties.

Still on the fence. I love the new tech involved, and the game looks very smart and challenging, but I'm afraid it's too linear. Mainly I just want to hear that there's some sandbox to it. After all, that's the main reason to buy a Rock Star game.

    • When I tell people I was at that game, they usually say oh that’s so cool you had the experience. I call it soul crushing. Why? The weeks and months leading up to it were great, the team was fun to watch every week…some weeks the offense was unstoppable and carried the team (saints and giants road games), other times the defense carried the load (jaguars, tampa). Lots of back and forth games against good teams (Seattle and Indy). Good young players on the team, but the veteran leadership was incredible…from Cam, Olsen, Kalil and J Stew to Luke, TD, Norman, Tillman, Jared Allen, CJ. Role players like Fozzy Whitaker, Cotchery (he caught that MFer), Philly brown, Kyle love, AJ Klein, and so on.  The Friday before the nfc championship my wife and I after a few drinks said let’s see what prices look like for flights/accommodations and we got to talking about how much prices would increase if we waited until we found out if we would be in the big game. We said screw it, we are only out $200 if we have to cancel.  Of course we come out and just pulverized the cardinals in front of the most raucous crowd by far we’ve ever had. We had no idea what we would do for game tickets and then found out a neighbor who worked for the team could get us 2 for face value (each employee got two of their own for free, something cool that JR did).  But then the NFL mafia decided that the storyline of manning going out on top like Elway would give them more goodwill than a non traditional QB who didn’t connect with their target demo and the rest is history. I never have and never will watch that game again. I am just hoping I can see them win one in the 2nd half of my life.
    • Dude you are smart fan. 3 on 0 breakaways won’t matter who is in net. You gotta be better on this one.
    • Raiders are gonna get a good one. Rather have Mendoza fly out and play for the Panthers tomorrow than Bryce
