You wake up to find you have somehow, in your sleep, traveled back to circa 1500 BC..

I won't theorize how it happened or whatever, but it is 100% real and not a dream. I won't theorize where on the Earth you ended up. You can pick that for the sake of this discussion.

All you have with you is whatever you sleep in (hopefully for your sake it is something). No technology whatsoever. No books. Nothing.

How long can you survive? What knowledge of the present world do you take with you to the people you are likely to encounter? Can you teach them anything that will revolutionize history as we know it and increase the rate at which human advancement takes place?

Go!

Realistically, no, I don't think you'd be able to contribute much or expedite the advancement of human civilization. Sure, we know about all of the technology that has heretofore advanced humanity, but a layperson such as myself wouldn't begin to know how to construct that technology.

Also, even if you did know how, you would be labeled some sort of heretic or witch doctor for even attempting it. More than likely we would be killed within a few days.

Wheel.

Ability to create fire from friction.

Bow and Arrow.

Fish Hook.

You could figure out pretty quickly how to become a "god" in some tribes eyes.

Even with our limited medical knowledge we could probably be the best "doctor" that anyone has ever seen.

Refine cooking techniques.

Boiling of water.

Knowledge of bacteria.

This could go on forever.

The wheel was invented about 6,500 years prior. Fire was first intentionally made by man about a million years ago; I'm assuming they knew how to boil water with it. Bows and arrows were used as early as 16,000 BC. Fish hooks about 7,000 BC. A knowledge of bacteria does little without a means to combat it.

I think many of you guys are underestimating how advanced many civilizations were in 1500 BC and overestimating our understanding and ability to replicate our modern world and its technology.

    • Completely agreed.  TBH, we have had so many great players that are in my favorite list, and I hate to narrow it down to one, but Cam is it.  Which is crazy, because you would think it would be more of the guys I grew up watching, but no.  Cam was the single most impactful player to ever out on a football uniform imo.  And like I said in an earlier post, I always felt a kinship with him in a lot of ways…  the way he was treated and judged for the off the field stuff in Florida and having to overcome all of that and fight show at back.  And although I am not a black man, I have always been welcomed by and accepted more by minorities, and thus, I know what it’s like to be judged by appearances rather than the content of your character and who you actually are.  I know what it’s like to be stereotyped and written off or mistreated for your mistakes.  I know what it’s like to be held to a different standard while your peers don’t have to meet that same standard.  So I always related to that.  And the way he came in and just electrified the whole franchise, man…  I still think about it often how much it sucks that because of how talented he was, our staff out so much on him and that ultimately cut his career short.  You’re right, there will never be another Cam…  I think Josh Allen is the closest thing we will see for a long time, but Allen is not the running threat Cam was.  Cam could run you over or around you.  That was THE absolute funnest time to watch our team ever.
    • It definitely needs more specificity than is baked in now.
    • The weirdest encounter I had with a pro athlete was waiting in line at security at Mile High Stadium when I used to get the company suite tickets almost every week because I was the only employee based in Colorado. There's a small checkpoint accessing the suites that virtually no one knows about that you can usually squirt right through. I was standing there and looked over my shoulder and there stands John fuging Elway waiting in line behind me.  This was during the The Golden Calf of Bristol season right before he became GM. I just said "They make YOU go through security?" He's like "Yeah, ain't that a bitch. I literally have a statue out front and I gotta go through security like everybody else." I've heard mixed things about him but he was super nice and down to earth with me that day.
