I have to have back surgery in the morning at 7....

I went to the ER Thurs for pain and they did a MRI, the ER doc looked and said it was bad, buy referred me to neuro. They workes me in because of the severity and told me to come back for 1 of 2 surgeries.

Tomorrows is a decompression at the T-3, the spinal cord is being pinched to about half it's size. The next surgery will be a fusion extending from the T-3 to the T-8 to keep things from moving around too freely.

T-8 is where I had my surgery in 2007 and am having some compression issues again. This doctor said I'm lucky to be walking at all.

Anyway, this is and has been incredibly tough on my wife who also chases a 20 month old around while I rot in my recliner. Any prayers are welcome and appreciated.

I had compression fractures to the same vertebrae (T3 - T8) ranging from 15% to 35% compression in 2005. I opted not to have fusion as I was in the middle of grad school and wanted to be stubborn and finish as soon as possible. I rocked a serious back brace for four months and then went through physical therapy. Although I didn't go through the fusion and subsequent recovery, I know what you're feeling and can imagine what it must have been like on your family. Best of luck tomorrow. Let us know how it goes.

    • I think i like the Oregon Safety better
    • Do you see the vision?  As of now our Carolina Panthers don’t have an identity. We are not an offensive powerhouse and on defense we only started getting it together towards the end of the year last year. In my opinion we are much closer to having an incredible defense that scares the daylights out of people. I say the answer is simple and we fully commit to that possible identity.    Emmanuel McNeil Warren (E man)  This guy is like a shark lurking around ready to attack anyone. Fearless. He is easily a top 20 talent in my eyes, and the only reason he isn’t more talked about is because he’s from Toledo. Do your due diligence as panther fans and watch his tape I beg you. Once you’re done watching let me ask you this, if you dropped E - Man into the strong safety spot on the Buckeyes, he isn’t being talked about as one of the best prospects we’ve seen in some time given the skill set you see with this guy? I think so. Put his name on the card and turn it in at 19.    Jacob Rodriguez  High effort, High energy, High IQ guy that flies around the field. We all know Jacob at this point. My only concern is he’s a little bit too good and I’m not sure he makes it to us at our pick in the second. With the additions of Jacob and E- Man I think our defense goes to top 5 in the league. We would have a duo of linebackers that rival anything we’ve had in our past. I’m not a GM so I don’t know what the possible answer could be, but if there’s a way we can comfortably trade up in the second to secure this guy I think we find a way to do it.    Spend the rest of our picks fixing the O - line.    Thoughts Panthers fans? Who’s the ideal duo for yall?
    • OL is arguably much more important to the success of a young QB. (Or any QB)
