Question to Panther fans

Lumps

Recommended Posts

I have a question to the fans (not people who make money off the Panthers) as to why a prospect who would 'fill seats' in BOA stadium is appealing? Why do you guys care? Do you wish the Panther's were a large market team? Are you scared they will move from lack of support? Do you think the team would do better with more fans, even band wagoners? Isn't this the reason we hate the Cowboys? Do you feel that filling the seats and making big profits is a reason for success as a winning team? Maybe to enhance the city of Charlotte, or the team's image ie. ESPN? 'Selling tickets' has never been a factor for me when bringing in somebody or drafting a prospect so I am curious as to why it would matter to someone not making a profit off of the popularity of the Panthers, maybe there are some good reasons.

The Panthers are irrelevant and boring. Jerry Richardson will not live forever. 10 years from now he more than likely wont be the owner of the Panthers anymore. So thinking we're just gonna continue with the status quo forever is very naive. How long do you think we can survive with the "just happy to have an expansion" mentality? 16 years in? People in the city and state dont care about this football team right now, and while that might not bother some people, some of us fans who have pumped thousands to millions of dollars into this baby want to see it be the best it can be. Why would you not want to sell tickets? Why would you not want to be exciting? Why would you not want to be relevant to your region and your sport? I think JR has done a disservice to this fanbase by conditioning so many of us to be OK with losing and being totally irrelevant. I dont see this with the Bobcats fanbase, they want to win, and get the big stars, and sell out games and all that. But it seems some of us Panther fans just want this to be "our team" with a bunch of mid tier to no name scrubs representing us and forever be that small market club no one ever thinks about or takes seriously.

When I ask people from other areas what they think about the Panthers they usually reply with something like "I don't know. They aren't very good. They don't have anyone on the team." Of course I know that we do have some great players but it's sad nonetheless.

I guess I would just like for us to get a little respect around the league. And I think some of our guys deserve that respect. (Beason, D-Will, Stew, CJ etc.)

You and fans like you have no damn clue, none. You want to know about shitty owners and Shitty franchises? how about 93 year old Ralph Wilson in Buffalo? fuger won't sell the team out of ego to an owner worth a poo even though he can't remember to tie his own shoe laces!

What about Cleveland, Detroit, Cinci?

You have no clue about not being taken seriously. poo man I can go right now to the mall in Tulsa and have an issue getting Panthers stuff because it SELLS HERE!!! you can't find poo for the other teams listed above. Hell in the 90's when Buffalo was the best team in the AFC hands down you still couldn't get poo.

I am so sick and tired of fans bitching and whining about richardson and the team not being reliant. This team started play 15 seasons ago in 1995 and has been to the playoffs 4x, NFC championship 2X and the Superbowl. Go look at the teams listed above and list how many times they have done poo COLLECTIVELY in that same timeframe. It sure as poo isn't impressive. This franchise is a pup in terms of years in existence compared to the rest of the NFL and so is the Carolina area in general as for as having a team so I try to be patient with you bitchy whiners, but it is well past old!

Winning will get us back where we want to be and JR has set us up for when the CBA is in place we can have a really good shot at filling this roster with better talent. We have upgraded coaching across the board and that helps greatly as well. Let the CBA get sorted out, have some sort of Free agency and let Rivera do his fuging job and lets see how this pans out. In the mean time change your pad, take some fuging midol and quit bitching.

You can plug in basketball and the Bobcats in this above statement in everything you question about the Panthers. But, you have your hate goggles on because you are 100% against JR and the Panthers until they get a 'black quarterback'.

When the Bobcats are relevant and have big stars and non-mediocre players let me know.

The Bobcats were in the playoffs last season and are closer to "success" than the Panthers right now as sadly as it sounds. The worst team in the NFL is the Carolina Panthers. You cant say that about the Bobs and the NBA. I dont have hate against JR and the Panthers. Im actually quite the opposite, perhaps one of their most loyal and devout fans who celebrates them when they do good, and is very critical of them when they fug up. Im not a homer, I'm a realist. And sometimes the truth hurts.

This all comes down to one thing; are you happy with mediocrity? Some of you obviously are. As I have said before, I don't accept mediocrity from myself and I shouldn't be expected to accept it of my favorite sports franchise. I don't need bandwagon fans to jump on my boat. I do want to be relevant and a perennial contender.

If you are happy to continue without back to back winning seasons, getting to the playoffs every four years or so then good for you. In a way im envious.

Superbowl or bust, go big or go home, all or nothing. It's just who I am. We all have different mentalities so we will never agree about some things.

I just would like a franchise that wins; winning solves everything. When we won we were relevant. I feel Clausen isn't the answer and no I 'm not a Cam Nut hugger but I feel we need a quarterback because in this league that's what you need to win. People on this board have their favorite of who they feel will get us to a respectable and winning level. But a WR, CB or DT (pieces of the puzzle) don't win games QBs do.

The Panthers demise was the arrogance of John Fox and his inability to change game plans and play conservative; that is what made us irrelvant because it cost us a big game on a big stage and we have declined every since. We now have a coaching staff that I have faith in. I don't have faith in Clausen because compared to The Golden Calf of Bristol and McCoy he didn't even look the part as a NFL quarterback. Winning will put fans in the seat. As for waiting for next year to get a quarterback there is no guarantee that any of those guys will be available to us (ie. draft position, injury)

Bobcats made the playoffs for the first time last year and were one and done. Just traded their best player, yet they are more committed to winning? :smilielol5:

Face it. You are not a realist. You are a black qb homer who hates the white owner.

Sometimes the truth hurts.
