I see some people are thinking Joffrey is the main villain. He isn't, he is just a boy king with relatively little power. At this point in the story Cersei is the primary antagonist along with Tywin Lannister. 1234567890-=

Are you sure that Joffrey isn't a main villain at this point? He had Ned killed, against Cersei and Tyrion's wishes, which virtually erupted into war. Sure, he has no power, and he's more of a pawn in the Game, but he still is evil.

Also, how much power does Cersei really have? Everything she has done has been undermined by Tyrion, Varys, and the Faith.

Joffrey is definitely not a very nice kid. A bully with a lot of power, and a bad upbringing. But par for the course in this series I guess. Well, he is a little worse than most I guess. :) But no one in this series is really likeable, except for Ned and a few of the other northmen.

Just finished reading game of thrones. Very entertaining. Not quite as good as LOTR or Legion of Videssos, but still one of the better fantasy series I have read in a while.

Finally got the books today in from amazon and look forward to reading them. Should have ordered them earlier and I am even thinking of not watching anymore episodes until I finish the second book. Small things like the Ironborn have kinda become my favorite culture and I would like to dive more into the cultures/characters of the book before I move on. Also im sick of waiting on HBO.

Woke up this morning and my mom left the first Game of Thrones book next to my bed. Didn't even asked her just mentioned the show was great a few times. Can't wait to read it.

Yea...there are really no heroes or villains. Even Ned did some shady stuff. More like likeable characters and anti-heroes. Some characters you like now, you will dislike later and vice-versa. Jaime becomes very likeable.
