I disagree.

I think Christian Ponder has a greater chance to be this year's Snead.

What I mean is that if Snead would have came out what, 3 years ago? I think it was his sophomore season, he would have been a top 10 pick. He came back for one more year, has a disastrous season, goes undrafted, and is now out of the league. He might be on some ones PS but last I heard he got cut from the Bucs.

Locker, in hindsight, should have most def came out last year. QBs always, always fall in the draft, and I think Locker has potential to be this years Snead, Brady Quinn, etc.

I think he'll be playing baseball again in 3 years.

Locker could turn out to be a great player, but I don't see it either. I have a feeling this will go down as one of the worst QB drafts in NFL history.

Yeah I get that feeling too. I think overall that this is a bad...well maybe bad isn't a good term, perhaps "weak" is better, draft.

I think Ponders & Dalton are as good of choices as Mallett, Locker, and maybe even Cam.

Just another reason to take Green or PP.

I like Locker. Guy showed heart and loyalty to his team. He could have took the money and run but instead stayed and helped achieve a team goal. I seriously think this is gonna be one of those drafts where the 3rd or 4th QB taken could end up more successful than the first or second. I think Locker, Ponder, Dalton and Kapernick all have the same chance to be good as Gabba and Cam. I am not advocating drafting any of them though.

Locker has football smarts and can get the call down in the huddle.

He can read progression between his receivers. And he has a winners heart.

And he has never stolen any computers or got caught cheating in school.

Like how dumb can you be???

How is it to know that the face of our Carolina Franchise will be a cheating thief??

Don't know about you but I am not proud of that fact.

He comes across as an extremely likeable kid. Would probably make a great face of the franchise.

I don't have enough confidence in his ability as a QB to support using the #1 on him though.

You know those guys who should be better than they are, but just aren't?

He's had solid pro-style coaching and seems to have soaked it up well. He loves the game. He's a good athlete. Has the physical tools he needs. His teammates like him. there's every reason to believe he could be the best quarterback in the draft.

But nobody believes he is (including me).

It's almost puzzling that he's not better than he is. You gotta think it's something between his ears, but what? hard to say.

between his ears is where I'd start..

now to be fair, he only played a pro style offense his last 2 years (IIRC) and was a RB coming out of HS.

it might just take him a little more time to relieve his RB instincts and develop QB type instincts.

matter of fact, his coach kind of talked about that in the show.

      Reasonable. I mean I didn’t see a clear path to relief this season myself. As I have typed already, I think the QB FA class is more interesting next season and that draft is supposed to be stacked as well. There just weren’t many options this year.  When you have Tepper to contend with you have to tread lightly around this unless you are 100% certain and willIng to stake your job on it.   There were a couple of outings that helped Bryce a lot in terms of  thinking maybe he can do this, and if you are a supporter you are giving them a lot of weight. You are likely to think just get him some more help and he can do that every week. Which I think Tepper falls into that category.  And the playoffs, division champs, regardless of the way I see that, the supporters will also give that a lot of weight.    And the big one, the atmosphere In BOA for that WC game, Tepper had to be soiling himself over that. If you pulled Bryce out right now you had better be right and your new guy had better make the playoffs and look good doing it or you will be gone and your chance to build your old team back into respectability will be gone too.  So here we have Pickett on a one year deal, and Grier and King. I understand it.

      Totally possible imo, I also caught that snippet from Morgan where he said “If” we sign him. The lack of competition says otherwise tho 🤷‍♂️
