Steve Smith Tribute *NEW*

it just amazes me at why people want to trade him...

I wouldn't mind moving him if we could get a late first or early second round pick for him because that's what he's worth to our team. Being that the highest we will get for him is probably a fourth I hope Hurney tells GM's to quit wasting his fuging time....

I feel so incredibly bad for him. his best years wasted with below average QB play. He SHOULD be a hall of famer. his highlight reel is ridiculous. It's almost like every touchdown he scores is an amazing play. there's nothing routine about them, he makes the TD's happen by himself.

And his stiff arm? my god, I've never seen someone his size that can do that to people. and he blocks like a beast too.

I will forever have a boner for steve smith, even if he isn't a Panther anymore. One of my favorite players of all time.

It doesn't amaze me, it sickens me.

Me too! What if LaFell & Gettis doesn't work out in their 2nd year & beyond like what happend to Colbert? Then we're screwed. Even if we do get Green, we still need at least a vet WR like Smitty. I don't think anyone else can do it like Smitty. We can't rely on just one great player in Green. If we do get Green, hopefully that will make Smitty stay.

If Smitty wants to go, let him go. Although how it would sicken me seeing Smitty in an other team's uniform. I'd also like to see him happy.

I just don't get the people saying he's 'washed up' or is 'cancer' to our offense. He lead our team to a Super Bowl and we owe him our full support.

    • It appears that he sees things differently than the QB and OC, so Cam's advice is spot on. It isn't about number of targets, it's about quality of targets. Trust and being on the same page. BY doesn't know how to anticipate what XL is doing. And XL doesn't like where BY is placing passes. One on one film study would go a long way. More for BY than XL though. He has to adjust to XL. I really don't think XL can adjust on the fly.
    • If the team shows improvement, then he shouldn't be in danger of losing his job - even if the record doesn't reflect. This was a very young team (with a lot of new vet starters) that overperformed last season. Somebody's doing something right. Consistency is key with so much youth. And we're potentially looking at new starters at ILB and FS. Those are positions that take time to fully understand the defense. ILB calls the front 7. Safety calls the back 4. Injuries at WR and IOL killed the offense last season. Depth needs to be upgraded. Same with Edge. I think they would have won more games if Pat Jones doesn't go down early. Be smart with the roster and draft. Trade players for assets when it's time to pay them more than they're worth - yes, that includes BY if he doesn't make a pretty big jump. That's one of the many reasons Tillis is as important as anyone to the future of this team.
    • He had heart surgery a while back he looks Fraile I hope he is okay
