Lockout judge to rule on Monday

Who needs the 2011 NFL Draft? Ruling coming on NFLPA's preliminary injunction to lift lockout

I'm hearing Nelson will issue the ruling on Monday. The players are the heavy favorites to win this round.

That doesn't mean the lockout ends right away and free agency starts. Nelson will either issue a stay on her ruling pending appeal to the Eighth Circuit in St. Louis or the loser will get a stay pending appeal directly from the Eighth Circuit. The winner of the appeal gains the leverage.

The Monday before the draft. How's that for drama? :(

IMO, she'll rule in favor of the players, grant the injunction and the owners will immediately appeal.

This is probably what will happen. The Owners will also ask the trial to be moved out of Minnesota once again.

How do they figure the initial winner has the upper hand? I fully expect the lower court judge who represented employees against 'the man' to rule in their favor. The conservative appellate courts will rule for the owners as the law and the situation is on their sides.

Est time line of an appeal will be 60 days at least. Depends on the circuit courts docket already, arguments, etc. You can also bet the NFL will ask for each and every delay possible because time and money are on their side.

Some here scoffed at me when I said I fully expect the season to be forfeit. the owners are dead set on changing how business is done.

The ONLY way I see this getting done sooner is if the majority of the NFLPA* membership says enough and fires their executive committee. The New committee wants to negotiate again with the judge they just did and accept an owner based deal. If so then this ends the lawsuits immediately and Brady, Manning, Brees etal can go suck it. Anyone wanting football anytime soon better hope the 'lesser' players take matters into their own hands and out of the hands of the highest paid.

How many times can they re-appeal the decision?

The losing side can appeal all the way up to the Supreme Court. It won't ever make it that far though. Look I would say 1600 of the 1800 players aren't the big paid players. They will step in and end it with a deal that will piss off the multi millionaire players, rookies and Agents. This won't go on too much longer.

One thing fans need to understand, there won't be free agency any time soon. The second she rules for the players the owners file an appeal and her decision is stayed, meaning the lockout and rules currently in place stay in place

    • I'm used to people crapping on the panthers in public spaces. I used to have to defend Cam fugging Newton until I was blue. I come here to talk Panthers and it is literally the same 5 posters you see in this very thread saying the same things, every single day. it's not about having tough skin, it's the constant negativity by the same people. its boring, its annoying, it clogs discussions. this place has really changed and I regret signing back in. I only have like 5 mins a day to spend consuming panthers content and its always the same posters and same crap. we used to have a 6'6 gunslinging battery ram, and he would constantly get dragged through the mud for not being enough, or doing this or that or not diving on a fumble. at the end of the day, it's a people problem. people love to bitch and complain. they'll never be content, they'll never just sit back and root the team on. we had one of the best teams in the NFL on the ropes to move onto the next round of the playoffs while the stadium was alive and well and that wasn't even enough to just enjoy the show.
    • I mean Stroud had a down year, but it was still better than Bryces best year
    • Anybody else see that the panthers have the fewest miles travelled of any team this year? Don’t know it matters too much but it can’t hurt 🤷‍♂️
