The measure of success

I want the team to be in the game with a good chance to win and without the hopeless feeling of last year. I too believe the talent is there to win some games and to be in all of them. We have a coaching staff who cares and hopefully have all the players back.

This is the main reason I do not want a rookie QB. They will set this team back and we don't need that. I know it sounds crazy because OMG Clausen/Moore suck!!!!one! but we really are a talented team.

With Moore or Palmer leading the way, I feel we can make the playoffs and possibly make a run depending on how good our defense is, since defense wins championships.

At the risk of turning this into another "you know who" thread, drafting a QB in my eyes has less to do with next season and is more about the future of the franchise.

The only reason me and you disagree is bc we disagree about a certain draft prospect :(.

I also think that buy the time certain prospects are ready to compete at a high level, our "window" will be closed or almost closed.

I would consider next season successful if:

We win at least six games.

We beat Atlanta at least once.

And we beat New Orleans at least once.

So what's a reasonable goal for improvement?

1) Score more points on offense

2) Give up fewer points on defense

3) Show signs that the passing game is developing and headed in the right direction

4) End the season feeling good about the coaching staff and their plan going forward

I will also consider 2011 a success if there is football in 2011.
