Final Prediction for the number #1 overall pick

Miller, dareus and PP are not worth 50 million guaranteed, plain and simple. If we don't draft Newton then I hope we trade down. We could get a great player at number 5 and save a bunch of money in the process and pick up a few other picks. The only guy out there worth that kind of money is a quarterback, either Newton or Gabbert. People aways felt that Peppers never was worth what we paid for him and these guys aren't clsoe to being in Pepper's class. Why would we give then more money than we would give Peppers and they haven't even taken a snap in the NFL. The only guys out there worth that kind of money are quarterbacks, plain and simple.

Why aren't they worth the top pick in your opinion? Just because they aren't a QB? Just curious

Also, why would it be ok if we spend all of that dough on a highly developmental QB? I've just never seen such a big project being touted as number one at this level. If you believe Cam isn't a project then I get where you're coming from, but it just doesn't make sense to me, especially if Rivera and Hurney want to win now.

if we were going to pay top NFL player money to a DT I would hope they were once in a 20 year prospect that could get in on the QB and stop the run with ease..dareus is just the typical top run stuffing DT prospect that you see every year..and I can see us getting one of those later in the rounds for much cheaper..A QB isn't only player you have to pay top dollar for..but usually the other players who are drafted at the top who aren't QB are freaks of nature.

Yeah but like I'm saying, you have to consider both Hurney's perspective and the projected talent in this draft. There just is no once in a 20 year prospect in this class and Hurney was given a major second chance. Again, if our FO wants to win now and Hurney is essentially on life support, why on earth would he take a project QB that won't really impact this coming season at the top overall pick? If we pick him, the fans are gonna go crazy wanting to see him play and he'll end up being thrown to the wolves way too soon.

So, if our focus is on winning next year, it just makes sense to go with the top talent that is not only an immediate impact but a starter from day 1 and for years to come.

To say its a money thing and that alone makes drafting Cam a must...I just don't get.

If I was putting money on it I think we take Dareus. Not who I want though. He will not be a bust but he will also make a minimal impact on our team. Which has one of the worst offenses in the history of the NFL.

Patrick Peterson. . if we can trade down and get him our secondary would be stacked with Peterson and Gamble as our starting CB's and Martin is probably gonna become one of the best safeties in football in a couple years. And I actually am in the minority and I like Godfrey back there. He just needs to learn how to read how the offense plays out better. All four have great ball hawking skills. PETERSON! PETERSON! PETERSON!

And the guys drafting behind us who are also rebuilding are going to want to move up, give up picks, and pay the $$$ we do not want to pay, when there are probably multiple guys they would draft.....

Everyone says trade down, but gives no logical reasons on why these other rebuilding teams are gonna give up picks and pay out $$$ for a #1 pick.

If we don't trade back Gabbert or Dareus.

I really don't think we will take Newton, way too many question marks. Remember a few years ago when most people thought we would take RaShard Mendenhall if we went RB then we took Stewart? I think we're creating a smokescreen around Newton but I think Gabbert is a target no matter where we are picking.

i called stewart on that one! i also called dewill too! where's my fuggin' cookie?

I find it hard to believe that we would still be considering Green and Peterson, but then again Hurnery and co. aren't tipping their hand

I think if we can't trade down its Dareus, or we will pick Newton and trade him for someone elses picks

You can't trade players since there is no CBA. If we pick Newton, then he is our guy. However, I am not sure about swapping picks like San Diego and New York did.

First, I agree and think trading down to #5 is doable but Von Miller IMO is on the same level of Peppers. He doesn't have the physical freak lable Peppers had but he really is a physical freak, just not on that same level as Peppers. But where he lacks physically with Peppers he makes up for in his football IQ.

I'm going out on a limb but I think Miller could be a LT type of game changer especially under Rivera. Just my opinion.
