So, about that pick...

Show me one piece of evidence that Cam isn't a hard worker.

As for him being in the spotlight...what college player was under a brighter spotlight than Cam Newton in 2010? I would say that he'a already proven that he can handle it. Auburn was nowhere close to being a NC winning team without him. In fact, they should be happy if they can magage to win 7 games in 2011.

.

You'll be waiting forever and a day for that when people question his work ethic it's always backed by some blind ass J. Russell comparison :nonod:

f**king hell! What are the haters going to come up with next? He wore the wrong shoes to a meeting so that means he's not taking things seriously? I don't care if you didn't want the pick before the draft, but right now he's a Carolina Panther. Stop all of this childish nit picking and get over yourself. It's this kind of stuff that makes our fanbase look pathetic and similar to the Falcon fanbase.

If thinking that his first real reaction to being drafted is "I made it!" rather then "alright now the real work starts" isn't a pretty dangerous warning sign is nitpicking.

Well, whatever. One day it'll all make sense.

I'm pretty sure every 1st round draft pick's first thought is "I've made it".

Again, show me one piece of evidence that proves that Cam isn't willing to work, aside from the opinions of the people who don't like him in the first place.

If you've been busting your ass to get where he is, every single day, and going through all the interviews and going over things about his career getting started, wouldn't you want a vacation? He deserves it. No big deal. Like it has previously been said, there is a lock out right now. If he goes on vacation with his family for a week and enjoys some down time, let him. If he takes the playbook with him, awesome. If not, can't blame him. He'd be on vacation, and you don't take work to your vacation. He can only do so much, and doing something with family now that he has the means is nothing to condemn him for.

And what did he say to Suzie right after being drafted? He stated that it was time to get to work.

    • In all honesty, no one knows if Dan really pushed for Bryce to be drafted. It's not fair to Dan to say that just because he was a part of the Fitterer regime then he was in full support of drafting Bryce. If the HC, Reich at the time really wanted Stroud but got bullied into drafting Bryce then Dan had even less say so in the matter. Dan was also saddled with giving Bryce an opportunity to compete in years 2/3 because of the cost to trade up and get him by ownership.  Outside of managing the QB position, Dan has made good moves and built a decent roster. Solidified the O-line and D-line, drafted contributors, and made good trades (Mike Jackson), and free agent signings (Dowdle). I do believe that this offseason will be really important for Dan and we'll see whose side he is clearly on. Bryce has had plenty of time and opportunity to prove himself and he has failed, if Dan is a Bryce homer he'll give him another year and pick up the 5th year option. If Dan isn't a Bryce homer, he'll move on from Bryce. Either way, we'll find out this offseason.
    • You also have to extend him and probably deal/cut Bryce
    • Jones would be what he is if he was on this team, a fairly middle of the road game manager. Still and upgrade but probably not worth the price the 49ers may want for him. If it's not something stupid in terms of ask and he doesn't want something even more stupid in terms of longish term contract, I am okay with a middling game manager until we can do better through the draft. The one thing that wouldn't be terrible is some stability at QB. That has almost never happened under Tepper.
