Fullback situation

Jacob Hester and Mike Tolbert were the FB's in Norvs O.

They have to have some speed, and be able to catch and run really good routes to start as the H in this system.

Hester is the ideal "fullback" for Norv's system but really Hester isn't that active. Probably around 10-15 plays a game? I could be wrong on that but more often than not you are going to be seeing 3 WR sets than a 2 back set. Or a TE is going to lineup in the H-back. Thats why I think Rosario ends up being a big part of the offense. He is probably good enough to line up at 6 different spots in that offense and has gotten better at pass blocking. He could end up having a breakout year under Chud.

While I really like Fiammetta and think he might be fast enough I seriouslly question his route running and in this system his biggest stregnth is almost wasted. But that might be where things get interesting. Norv is known for not adjusting his system to players stregnthes. Rivera, on the other hand, is known for the exact opposite. So who will be a bigger influence on Chud and his style of appoarching players? I say neither but a little of both.

So what does that mean for Fiammetta? I think he can make the roster here but he would probably be better off in Denver or another team where the offense relies on a road grader type of full back.

Tony has done nothing to prove he can fill Hoover's shoes. Nothing. If there is a better option, go for it. But this is that time of year again. The "we'll be fine" or the "he'll be fine" posts will fly in like gang busters. No point in debating, it's a wasted effort.

Agreed.

I think that RR will give him a season, the he will be gone.

The road grader type of FB doesn't really fit into what Chud will most likely want to run.

Unless he plays outstanding on special teams, and has gotten better with route running and catching the ball, expect this to be his last season.

    • Lol. The Texans are literally one of Bryce's six career NFL wins. WTF are you talking about?
    • Yeah, I mean it is a statistical fact and also part of literally a player evaluation. Winston has literally lost dozens of games in his NFL career due to crippling TO's. It's just who he is. Look, it's fun when those insane throws work and he is leading you back from some crazy deficit. But those success are rare. It's why his career GWD count is so low. He's fun but he is fundamentally built to lose games.  If you are talking about a backup QB, you are literally already losing in the first place. That's how you see a backup QB and that's overwhelmingly what they tend to do. Rookie QB's almost always benefit from veteran QB's. Same as literally any other position in the NFL. Why do you think that you so often hear that from the playera themselves? As for Bryce NEEDING one, no he sure as poo shouldn't this late in the game. But he also shouldn't have needed this fuging long to get his fuging footwork straightened out either. Yet here we are.
    • Comfortability is the primary reason. They don't want to hurt Bryce's confidence. But I say if his confidence is that fragile that healthy competition which makes everyone better is enough for them to keep making Andy Dalton rich then Bryce was never going to be the guy anyway. Give me the QB who sees the competition amongst his peers and uses it to take it to the next level. Instead we get the guy who comes out looking like a deer in the headlights against the Texans after we've done everything possible to appease him. Definition of complacency.
