Alshon Jeffery next year?

5-6 games with a rookie qb and no ota's and limited camp/preseason for a team that won just 2 games the year before is not out of the realm of possibility and could be considered positive progress.

I agree.. include as well a new offense, defense, and special teams..

I'm not expecting any miracles this upcoming season.

Lol I forgot to include rookie HC and new system. And maybe no Smitty too unfortunately.

Good call.

better coaching staff

better scheme on both sides of the ball

better QB

more experienced WRs

healthier team overall

coaching staff that actually cares whats going on

we won 7 games the year after winning only 1 in 2001.

this team is in better shape than that one.

I totally agree that this is possible. I wouldn't be surprised if we go 4-12, but also wouldn't be surprised at 8-8. You bring up valid points I just think people shouldn't exactly be shocked if we win 5.

1) Maybe but very little time to teach the players the new system.

2) Based on what,college?

3) Up-grade at TE but Smith is on the way out.

4) How can you predict the health of a team?

5) Yes, but again very little time to prepare the players.

And the Panthers brought in a vet QB that year too.

I don't see him as being worth a first, at least not where we probably will be picking. Definitely not in AJ Green category. He just seems too slow. I don't know what his straight line speed is, but he definitely seems to me to lack any suddenness. Not saying he's not good, just not that good.

i would say that 7 would probably be our cap. i really don't see us going higher than that. 5-7 wins seem reasonable considering the age of the team. i do think that they will be playing beyond what they are capable of. a new coaching staff and a group of players with chips on their shoulders and a renewed sense of team will allow this team to excel beyond where many feel they will.

    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

    • Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
