Lee Ziemba met with Newton on playbook

After the Panthers drafted him in the seventh round last weekend, Lee Ziemba received one of his first congratulatory text messages from his college quarterback.

"Congrats," Cam Newton wrote in the text. "Let's go do it again."

After he drives to Atlanta have him go on up to Charlotte to work out with Kalil and the rest of the OLine. I like that these guys seem ready to work and our vet guys are already working...Nothing like being the laughing stock of the league to put a fire under guys asses.

Good interview with Ziemba at the combine.

He only wants to start. I hope he pushed whiney boy Otah to the bench. As big and tough as Otah can be, he has zero tolerance for playing with pain. This guy has 52 straight under his belt and put up with a nagging knee through 12 game season.

Great Post Not bad for a 7th Rounder.

Pretty ridiculous to assume you know the extent of someone's pain and whether or not they can, could or should play through it. This place never ceases to amaze me.

Not that it will make a difference to you but even Jordan Gross has said he doesn't think Otah plays through pain when he could.

Didn't he hear......

Cam is too busy basking in the Mexican sun to be bothered with such trivial things as football and playbooks.

it's not like other teams and QB's are working out....oh wait....

Ignorant post, Ziemba is DRIVING to atlanta to meet Newton, so he isn't in MEXICO!

    • Watching games this year again and Bryce missed a wide open XL many times and some of them were in the endzone. I get the kid has mental lapses and hasn't broke out yet, but this is year three on a rookie deal! Cutting bait now is too early. If he hasn't gained anymore trust from his QB, posted any highlights, little production, or outright gets beat out then we can talk movement.
    • Samesies   I truly may just cash completely out of Panther football if we give him a long term deal that isnt necessary.  I have watched NFL for 50 years now and I can without a shadow of a doubt say you cannot win consistently with BY.  Way too many limitations to deal with.   I may come back around in 3 years when the inevitable happens and all parties are either cut and/or fired.  Giving him a deal before this season so you hopefully can get him cheaper in case he "blows up" or if you truly believe that he will has to be the most moronic decision a gm can make when the evidence is laid before you with different players
    • This is the one! I was at that game and all KB had to do was lay down on the corner after the pick or make an obvious tag while he was down. He had already ran a lazy route. Then if Cam would've just walked to the sideline like most elite QBs instead of trying to make the tackle.  A lot of people bring up the TJ Watt hit, but he just reaggravated a bunch of scar tissue from that play. And every Cam hater said that the running did him in and it was a dive tackle attempt on an interception that initially began the shoulder deterioration. He still went to New England later and would've got them in the playoffs had their A team not sat out the covid year. We quit on him too early. But hey how good was Teddy? Am I right?
